Jimmy Fowlie, a writer for "Saturday Night Live" and tied to Netflix's "A Nonsense Christmas With Sabrina Carpenter," is asking for the public’s help after revealing that his sister has been reported missing in Los Angeles. The 40-year-old comedy writer, who joined "SNL"’s writing staff in 2022 and co-wrote the viral “Domingo” sketch, shared an official missing persons bulletin issued by the Los Angeles Police Department on social media on Monday, December 22. According to the LAPD alert, Fowlie’s sister, Christina Lynn Downer, 38, was last seen in the Los Angeles area. The bulletin included two photographs of Christina and noted that authorities are actively seeking information about her whereabouts.

“My sister has been missing, and we are worried that she isn’t safe,” Fowlie wrote in an Instagram post before clarifying that his sister may be using more than one last name, urging people to keep that detail in mind while sharing the alert. “Her married name is Downer, but she may go by Christina Fowlie,” he explained.
In the caption accompanying the post, Fowlie appealed directly to followers for assistance, asking anyone with information to contact authorities. “Please share this so that if anyone has seen her, they can give any information to the police,” he wrote. “The phone number is 213 996 1800, and her case number is 25237639. She was last seen in LA. Thank you.”
Police echoed the family’s concern in the missing persons report, stating, “Christina’s family and friends are concerned for her safety.”
LAPD Releases Description In Missing Persons Report

The Los Angeles Police Department’s missing persons report describes Downer as having brown hair and brown eyes, standing 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing approximately 120 pounds.
Police also noted that Downer was last contacted in late November, further heightening concern as the search continues. Authorities are urging anyone who may have seen her or has information about her whereabouts to come forward as soon as possible.
Friends And Fans Flood Jimmy Fowlie With Support

Following Fowlie’s post, the comments section quickly filled with messages of love and concern from friends, fellow comedians, and fans who urged others to help spread the word.
Several well-known figures chimed in with messages of support, offering condolences and encouraging followers to share the missing persons alert. Influencer and comedian Jake Shane said he was “so sorry” and sending love, while actor and producer Wendi McLendon-Covey reacted with a crying face and a heart to express sympathy.

Fowlie's Sister's Disappearance Comes Amid Major Changes At 'Saturday Night Live'

The worrying development comes during a period of significant change for "Saturday Night Live." Just days earlier, cast member Bowen Yang, who first joined "SNL" in 2018 as a writer and was later promoted to on-air cast member, made his exit following last Saturday’s episode hosted by Ariana Grande.
Reflecting on his departure, Yang shared an emotional farewell message. “I loved working at "SNL," and most of all I loved the people,” he wrote. “I was there at a time when many things in the world started to seem futile, but working at '30 Rock' taught me the value in showing up anyway when people make it worthwhile,” he continued, adding, “I’m grateful for every minute of my time there.”
Yang’s exit marked the latest shake-up for the long-running NBC series, which insiders have described as a chaotic “bloodbath” of departures ahead of the 2025 season. His departure follows a major post–Season 50 turnover that saw Ego Nwodim, Heidi Gardner, Michael Longfellow, Devon Walker, and Emil Wakim all leave the cast.
