Megyn Kelly Gets Slammed For Claiming She Prays To Charlie Kirk: 'He Would Be Horrified By This'

Megyn Kelly has revealed she often asks for guidance from the late Charlie Kirk. The political commentator shared the personal detail at TPUSA's AmericaFest in Phoenix.

During the discussion, Kelly referenced Charlie's wife's recent sit-down with Candace Owens, who has previously made headlines for her conspiracies about the right-wing activist's death.

Megyn Kelly previously hosted Erika Kirk in a live sit-down last month in front of a sold-out crowd in Glendale, Arizona.

During a discussion with far-right activist Jack Posobiec at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest, Kelly revealed how she has often prayed to Charlie for direction in recent days.

The podcaster made the comment with regard to the alleged feud over conspiracy theories between Erika and Owens. The back-and-forth eventually led to a sit-down between the two women on December 15, which Kelly earlier claimed Erika called her about to ask whether she wanted to moderate the conversation.

"I've prayed so many times to Charlie, and to God, to give me the right guidance on how to handle this whole thing..." Kelly shared with Posobiec and the event attendees.

Kelly further hinted that her prayers to Charlie go beyond the Erika-Owens issues but are also about the "fracture" within the conservative movement that has emerged amid the alleged feud.

Kelly's remarks about praying to Charlie had many online, including MAGA supporters, questioning her faith, claiming that it's not right for a Christian to pray to another human being.

One person said, "Why the hell is she praying to Charlie?!?! He would be horrified by this."

Another commented, "I honestly can't believe I'm saying this, but that is literally the DUMBEST thing she's ever said. Praying to Charlie?!"

A third person noted, "Talking like this makes me think she doesn't know the Scriptures or God."

One more individual shared, "The lack of respect for Charlie's beliefs is disgusting and repugnant. He was very clear while alive that he was not Catholic."

In the wake of Charlie's death, Kelly has been one of the main voices who has emphasized the importance of continuing his work.

The two also seemed to have a great personal relationship, which Kelly highlighted during her Q&A with Posobiec earlier at the TPUSA event.

"I miss him so much … he was always so great," Kelly said about Charlie, before specifying the exact traits she misses about him.

"He always knew exactly what question to ask, how to get you up and down in a story. He had a very good judgment for what was interesting to the audience, too, and was always so generous with his time and, you know, his approach," Kelly continued.

The podcaster also pointed out that several months have passed since his death, and that the elapsed time could be interpreted in different ways.

She added, "I can't believe it's been three months. In some ways it feels like yesterday, and in some ways it feels like another lifetime that we've seen him, right?"

Much about the meeting between Erika and Owens was discussed on Kelly's podcast the previous week.

At the time, she opened up to her listeners about how the meeting was initially intended for "consumption by the public."

However, there were "some roadblocks" during the period when Erika and Owens discussed the specifics of what they would both be comfortable with during the meeting.

The issues eventually led the duo to agree to hold the meeting privately rather than on camera or via livestream.

"Those two had a sit-down meeting yesterday for four and a half hours," Kelly said about the meeting, which Erika confirmed in a tweet.

She added about the duo, "They met face to face in Nashville. No recording devices, nothing, just the two of them. Each had a supporter, someone from their own perspective teams."

As for why Kelly stayed away from making any comments ahead of the meeting between Erika and Owens, she said it was because she wanted to be unbiased.

"I don't have any obligation to you to hate the people you hate or try to bring down the people you want brought down," Kelly said. "People want to turn that into a catfight between Candace and yours truly, which will fail."

Moving forward, Erika and Owens appear to have made some progress in their disagreement, as they both took to their pages in the wake of the X meeting to hint at it.

"Had a very productive conversation with @RealCandaceO," Erika wrote, adding, "More to come from both of us."

"Erika and I had an extremely productive 4 1/2 hour meeting that I think we both feel should have taken place a lot earlier than it did," Owens mentioned in a separate post.
