The comedian/actress gave fans a little insight about her life in honor of the last night of Hanukkah, which she celebrated with Israeli actress and activist Noa Tishby.

Amy Schumer's confessions come amid her shocking split from her longtime husband, Chris Fischer. The former couple tied the knot in February 2018 and welcomed one son before announcing their split in December 2025.

Over the weekend, Schumer joined Tishby to celebrate the last night of Hanukkah as part of the latter's series, where she welcomed different celebrity guests to commemorate the Jewish holiday. During the comedian's turn, she reflected on her Jewish culture and her family's traditions.

"I love Hanukkah. I was always really excited about it. Every time we light the candles, I feel like we've won," Schumer raved in a joint Instagram post with Tishby. She recalled facing antisemitism while growing up and told the host that the challenges gave her family the best way to overcome them.

"When things are the absolute worst, that's when my family is the funniest," Schumer revealed. "Just when we hit rock bottom is when we can laugh the hardest. And I think that that's not unique to me. I think that's like a Jewish characteristic."
