Kristin Cabot says she has been told she is "unemployable" by potential employers since her Kiss Cam scandal with her former boss.
The former Astronomer employee revealed this in one of her recent interviews in which she broke her silence about the controversy. She also shared that she received repeated threatening messages from online trolls and that her children feared she might die as a result of the threats.
Kristin Cabot further explained why she chose to resign from her position, despite being asked to return by the company's board.
Kristin Cabot Has Been Told She Is 'Unemployable'

Despite having several years of experience in human resources, Kristin Cabot has been unable to secure new employment since resigning from Astronomer following her Kiss Cam scandal with the company's CEO, Andy Byron.
The pair were caught on camera canoodling at a Coldplay concert in Boston earlier in the year, a moment that quickly went viral and ultimately led to Byron's resignation from the company as well.
Since then, Cabot says she has been repeatedly turned away in her job search, adding that many potential employers have told her she is now "unemployable."
"It has been like a scarlet letter; people erased everything I'd accomplished in my life and achieved in my career," the seasoned HR professional shared in her interview with The Times.
"This can't be the final word," Cabot further remarked of her situation.
Kristin Cabot Revealed Why She Resigned From Astronomer

At the height of the Kiss Cam scandal, Cabot was placed on leave by the company. She said the board later reinstated her, but she ultimately chose to negotiate her exit.
This, Cabot claimed, was because she could not come to terms with how she would continue working around her colleagues going forward.
"I could not imagine how I could stand up as H.R. chief when I was a laughingstock," she told the New York Times.
To Cabot, choosing to resign was her taking accountability for her actions, which she pointed out in her other interview with The Times.
"There was a lot of noise around me, not taking accountability, but what actually happened is the board said, 'Please stay.' And I said, 'How, given my job is to be the one to show people how we are expected to behave, our standards, our values?'" she noted.
Ultimately, her decision to leave was also partly due to how viral the incident had been at the time.
"If it hadn't turned into what it did online, I could have stood up and said, 'It was a really bad decision, and I regret it. I'm so sorry for the position I put you all in, but I'm committed to this place' and stayed in my job," Cabot further remarked.
Kristin Cabot's Kids Were Afraid She Was Going To Die

Outside of having to quit her job, Cabot also had to deal with security threats from some hostile netizens.
After she was doxxed, her phone line received hundreds of calls a day, and she was also sent repeated threatening messages.
The paparazzi presence outside her home was intense, with photographers trying to obtain any information that could be turned into headlines.
As a result of the threats, Cabot's children were left fearful about what might happen to their family.
According to the seasoned HR, they became "afraid that [she] was going to die and they were going to die."
The situation also led to the family dreading public spaces and social events for a while, and Cabot had to seek therapists for her kids to help them come to terms with everything.
Kristin Cabot No Longer Talks To Her Former Boss, Andy Byron

In one of her interviews, Cabot admitted that she maintained some form of communication with Byron in the aftermath of their scandal.
However, she said it was not to rekindle their attraction but rather to manage the crisis surrounding the situation.
They ultimately decided it was best to cut ties permanently, as "speaking with each other was going to make it too hard for everyone to move on and heal."
The Former HR Chief Is Divorcing Her Husband

As for Byron and Cabot's marriages to their respective partners, the situations have taken different paths.
The former HR chief is currently in the process of finalizing her divorce from her estranged husband, Andrew Cabot, from whom she was reportedly separated before the Kiss Cam scandal.
Meanwhile, Byron appears to have rekindled his marriage with his wife, Megan. The pair were recently seen enjoying a stroll in Maine with their wedding rings still on and were also spotted spending private downtime together on a beach.
