David Harbour Causes Chaos At California Bar After Allegedly Stealing Man's Hat Amid Personal Struggles

David Harbour recently drew attention to himself after a bizarre incident outside a California bar where he was filmed running off with another patron's hat.

The actor's actions reportedly sparked confusion at the bar, but no physical confrontation. An eyewitness suggested the behavior may be linked to stress and his openly discussed bipolar disorder.

The moment comes amid increased scrutiny of David Harbour's personal life following his split from Lily Allen, whose new album references another woman.

Harbour was caught on camera in a bizarre moment over the weekend in Encinitas, California, after he was seen running off with another patron's hat outside a local bar.

The unusual incident reportedly took place Saturday at the Encinitas Ale House. In video footage viewed by TMZ, the "Stranger Things" actor was seen entering the gastropub and later sprinting outside holding a white baseball cap.

As he ran, he reportedly glanced back and shouted, "C'mon, dude, f-cking get me."

A visibly confused man appeared to follow him moments later, raising his hands and yelling, "What the f-ck did I do to you?" Several other patrons then stepped outside the bar, seemingly trying to understand what had just happened.

A woman's voice was also heard pleading, "Don't get into a fight!" The situation reportedly ended without any physical confrontation, and the man eventually retrieved his hat before everyone went their separate ways.

An eyewitness at the bar told TMZ that Harbour had initially walked past the venue with a friend when the man wearing the hat ran out to greet him.

According to the witness, Harbour's friend mentioned they were heading to meet some women, but Harbour then suggested going to the man's house instead, a comment the man found unsettling.

The person then returned inside the bar shortly afterward. Not long after, Harbour allegedly entered the bar, grabbed the man's hat, and ran back outside.

The witness claims Harbour threw the hat on the ground, began asking people questions about the Iraq War, grew emotional, and at one point knelt down to pray.

A source familiar with the situation suggested that Harbour's behavior may be connected to his long-discussed struggles with bipolar disorder, noting that Harbour has been open about the condition in the past.

"David has always been honest about managing his bipolar disorder," the insider said. "Wouldn't be surprised if that's what he's dealing with here after working non-stop all year and having his personal life under public scrutiny."

"That would be stressful for anyone, but even more so for someone who is bipolar," the insider explained further.

The incident comes amid recent rumors involving Harbour and his "Stranger Things" co-star Millie Bobby Brown.

A report had claimed Brown filed a bullying or harassment complaint against Harbour during filming of the show's final season, but both Brown and executive producer Shawn Levy have firmly denied the allegation.

Brown later emphasized her close relationship with Harbour, telling Deadline that the two share a strong bond after years of playing a father-daughter duo on the Netflix series.

Their connection was also evident during the most recent "Stranger Things" premiere, where Brown and Harbour were seen smiling, laughing, and sharing a hug on the red carpet.
