Rihanna Reacts To Being Told To Sit Down At Mariah Carey's Vegas Show

Rihanna just had to sprinkle in some curse words in an encounter during Mariah Carey's Las Vegas concert.

The "Diamonds" Singer got called out while enjoying the concert and bristled at it. The captured moment has since gone viral, causing a division among fans and the general online audience. The Vegas encounter is not the first time 'Bad Girl Riri' has gone vulgar with people, as iconic clapbacks are slowly becoming her thing.

Rihanna rang in the year with the f-word to an online fan, and is probably closing out 2025 with the altercation with another fan during Mariah Carey's Christmas performance.

While attending Carey's concert inside the Dolby Theater at Park MGM in Las Vegas on December 13, Rihanna was told to behave, and that did not pan out very well. The singer was all into Carey's performance that she stood up to dance.

This simple act caused a distraction to other attendees as she was propped up by her chair, dancing, waving her arms, and blowing kisses to the singer on stage. Carey was performing her hit "We Belong Together," and Rihanna vibed along.

As seen in the viral video clip, a concertgoer told Rihanna to sit down as she was making it hard for the people behind her to enjoy the view of Carey on stage. The mother of three did not apologize but just yelled, "Oh, sh-t!" and kept dancing like a wild teenager.

The video capturing the moment was shared across platforms with the caption "The audacity to yell at Rihanna to sit down while she's fangirling over Mariah Carey is wild."

Fans are torn on whose side to take in this situation. Mixed reactions overflow as some say it was rude of Rihanna to stand up, while others say that Rihanna should be able to do what she wants.

Some viewers defended the fan's actions, saying that just because she's a celeb doesn't mean she gets to block people's view.

They stood firmly that even superstars had to follow rules. Others praised Rihanna's composure in response to the fan expressing that she handled the moment with grace and confidence.

Rihanna has shown in previous years how big a Mariah Carey fan she is. She was at her December 2024 show in Brooklyn, New York, and she had also seen other Carey concerts before that.

She even got the "All I Want For Christmas" hitmaker to give her a body autograph. Backstage at one of the shows, Carey signed Rihanna's left breast with the Fenty diva saying she was going to get it tattooed.

Early in the year, Rihanna brought in the heat on social media. She shared a video on Instagram celebrating the new year with some of her friends. As many fans wished her a happy new year, one user thought it wise to comment on the fact that they were waiting for her to release some new music.

"We want an album forehead," the person commented, to which the music icon responded with "listen, Lorenzo! You ain't cute enough to be calling me by my black name, you dizzy f-ck!"

Rihanna has already built a reputation for iconic clapbacks, and many steer clear. Years ago, she and a fellow singer, Ciara, had a viral exchange on social media. Ciarra accused the pop star of being rude on a show, and Rihanna could not let it slide. She took to X to bash Ciara.

A few years back, at the Fenty Ball, Rihanna had another moment with foul language. A clip went viral at the time showing the music icon mouthing the f-word to a model on the runway. The woman, identified as Michell'e Saint Laurent, shared her side of the story with OUT.

The Porcelain Ball was to celebrate 30 years of existence and was put on by  House of Miyake-Mugler. Laurent had been preparing for months to walk the runway, working on the details of her dress, walk, music choice, and final performance.

As she walked excitedly onto the runway, eager to show the judges the results of the amazing preparations she had put together,  Rihanna flipped her off and mouthed, "F-ck you b-tch." 

She then threw the light stick that the judges had to give 10s, and she also threw someone's purse, as if she was just outdone and over it. Despite these, Laurent received love from the audience and judges.

Last year, at a New York fashion week show, Rihanna snubbed her former friend Naomi Campbell, and this caught the eyes of the media.

A viral video showed the Grammy winner walking into the event, greeting former British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful. She then kept walking, ignoring Campbell and celebrity stylist Law Roach, who were both also seated in the front row.

As reported by The Blast, Rihanna did not look or chat with Campbell, butinstead walked past her and spoke to other celebrities present. When asked about their brawl in a later interview, she insisted that all was well between them.
