There will be no Super Bowl run this season for the Kansas City Chiefs, who were eliminated from postseason contention following their loss to Justin Herbert and the Chargers. The loss snaps the team's 10-straight playoff berths and their run of seven consecutive AFC Championship game appearances.

During the "Monday Night Football" broadcast, Jason fielded questions about whether this season could be his brother Travis' last. "I'm curious too," he said. "In my opinion, to nail that decision, you've got to step away from the game for a little bit."

Jason explained that competitive athletes usually don't make decisions about their future so soon after a disappointing season or soul-crushing loss. Instead, he advised his brother to focus on the remainder of the season and reflect on his future at a later date.

"Play these last three games, enjoy them with your teammates, enjoy that with your coaches," he said. "The team's going to be different whether you come back or not next year. So, enjoy these last three games and then let it sink in. It'll come to you with time."

Jason Kelce Says Players Experience Many Emotions After A Tough Loss

As Jason, 38, continued, he noted that playing in the NFL brings "so many emotions" that it takes time to process what comes next. "It's been so up and down … They've been close and right now, it's too fresh. You got to step away from it, you got to think about it. Then, it'll come to you," he said.

Indeed, Travis appeared quite emotional in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) showing the 36-year-old walking slowly back to the locker room with his head down. Fans attempted to grab his attention; however, Travis politely shut them down, saying, "Not right now, y'all."

According to The Blast, Travis also declined to speak to reporters after the game, saying, "It's not the time," before promising to open up in a later conversation.

Travis has been a trending topic throughout the NFL this year, as many have wondered whether the star tight end's glory days are behind him. ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith criticized the athlete during an episode of "First Take," seemingly suggesting that Travis' highly publicized relationship with Swift was becoming a distraction.

"We were supposed to see more Travis Kelce yesterday than we saw her. That’s not happening. You got to get it going, bro. You got 39 receiving yards in the first two games. Come on now, it’s time," Smith said. "Football season is here. The honeymoon’s over. Let’s handle our business."

During an episode of his "New Heights" podcast, Travis opened up about his performance this season, calling it a "tough go-around." He later reflected on how much more of a struggle it's been for him to bounce back from mediocre games.

"I feel like I have always had the answers in years past, and this year I just can't find them. I keep thinking if I show up for work and put in the work, fix the issues through my practice habits, and through perfecting the game plans, then things will come together like they always have. This year, it just has not, man," he said.

If Travis decides it is time to hang up his cleats for good, he will be in great company, as his brother announced his retirement in March 2024.

Jason, the former Philadelphia Eagles center, shared the news during an emotional 40-minute speech, reflecting on his lengthy career and many accomplishments.

"It is difficult to put into words how much Jason Kelce has meant to everyone in this organization, to the City of Philadelphia, and to our fans," said Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie. "He gave everything he had to all of us for 13 years, and he did it in a way that was truly authentic. Jason was an incredible football player; a future Hall of Famer who would have been successful anywhere. But has there ever been a more perfect marriage between a player, a city, and a team?"
