Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk, appeared in court Thursday and was caught in an unsettling off-mic exchange in which he seemingly reflected on the fatal shooting.

During his first in-person court appearance in Provo, Utah, Robinson appeared calm, even sharing brief laughs and smiles with his attorney. But, according to a lip-reading analysis by Lip Reader Limited, his private comments were far darker.

"I think about the shooting daily," Robinson appeared to tell his lawyer before the hearing began. "Every morning … all the time."

According to the lip reader, he then seemed to reference Erika Kirk, who is now raising the couple's two young children alone.

The Alleged Charlie Kirk Killer Appeared Calm In Court; Hearing On Cameras, Transcript Postponed

Despite those comments, Robinson remained composed in a blue shirt and argyle tie as he stood before Judge Tony Graf.

He is accused of fatally shooting the 31-year-old Turning Point USA founder on September 10 during a speech at Utah Valley University attended by thousands.

The court session centered on two issues: whether cameras would be allowed in future proceedings, which Robinson's team opposes, and whether portions of a prior phone-hearing transcript should be made public.

After more than two hours of private arguments, Judge Graf postponed his decision on both matters and scheduled a follow-up hearing for December 29.

The shift in transparency surrounding the case has raised eyebrows.

California-based trial attorney and legal analyst Roger Bonakdar said authorities were unusually open early in the investigation, releasing details prosecutors typically keep confidential, including references to audio recordings, a purported confession, and surveillance footage.

"When they first arrested Tyler Robinson, the information tap was at full blast," Bonakdar said, per Fox News. "They told us that they had audio recordings from Tyler Robinson and a purported confession. They told us that there was video footage from a local fast-food restaurant. They were very, very almost oversharing in the beginning."

He added: "Now they've shut that tap off, and they're saying you can't even come to court and hear about what we're doing when most of it's probably procedural."

Robinson surrendered to authorities after a statewide search. According to court documents, his parents recognized him from surveillance images released by police and convinced him to turn himself in.

The next day, Robinson, his parents, and a family friend arrived at the Washington County Sheriff's Office, where he was taken into custody.

Investigators say Robinson also confessed in messages to his roommate and romantic partner, described in documents as "a biological male who was transitioning genders."

As reported by The Blast, in those texts, he allegedly wrote, "I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can't be negotiated out," hinting at what many believe was his motive.

Robinson's mother told detectives her son had grown "more political" and increasingly "pro-gay and trans-rights oriented" over the past year.

According to the New York Post, the 22-year-old has initially cooperated with authorities; however, it's unclear if that still remains the case given his current AWOL status.

Twiggs has also not publicly said a word about the murder of Kirk and has not addressed the media since the shooting incident rocked the world.
