Britney Spears is demanding she be provided her own attorney in the conservatorship case, but this time, she wants the ability to pick the new person on her own!
According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, Britney’s conservator, Jodi Montgomery, is asking the court to appoint a “Guardian ad Litem,” an attorney for Britney who the court does not solely choose. Britney was found incompetent to chose her own representation 13 years ago, and the court decided to appoint attorney Sam Ingham to her.
Now, Britney is asking to choose her own attorney but does NOT want to undergo any additional medical evaluations to determine her capacity to make decisions. The move comes on the heels of her current lawyer resigning from the case, along with her music manager. According to the request, Spears is now in a situation where the court will appoint another representative on her behalf. “Ms. Spears, however, unequivocally disagrees,” the document states.
Britney Spears: I Have The Right To Speak For Myself!

According to the filing, “At the hearing on June 23, 2021, Ms. Spears addressed the Court and repeatedly expressed her desire to select her own counsel, without an additional medical evaluation. She pointed out that “with the conservatorship, I couldn’t even get my own attorney,” that she “want[s] to feel heard,” and that “I have the right to use my voice and [speak] up for myself [without having to be evaluated].”
It continues, “At one point, Ms. Spears poignantly stated: “I haven’t really had the opportunity by my own self to actually handpick my own lawyer by myself, and I would like to be able to do that.”
In the filing, Jodi Montgomery included a series of text messages from Britney Spears, revealing her requests for a new attorney. In the messages, Britney is asking her conservator to provide a list of names so she can start the interviewing process.“I’m asking u for ur assistance in getting a new attorney,” Britney says. Adding, “Thank u for ur help.”

Jodi responds, saying, “You must have your own representation, and we will clear the way in court.”
Britney pressed the point, texting, “It’s not cool though ur not givin me names Jody, I don’t have representation though.”
Unfortunately, Jodi pointed out the obvious, which is “Sam is still your attorney until the court releases him.”
As we reported, Britney is asking for the entire conservatorship to end but has to make a formal request (through an attorney) to terminate the case. So, it seems Spears wants the process of receiving her new counsel sped up so she can make a few of these important requests.
Britney Spears’ Conservator Is Receiving Death Threats!

We broke the story; Jodi Montgomery is staying on as the conservator at this point, after sharing with the court text messages from Britney Spears saying she wants her to remain on board…for now. The problem is, she is receiving death threats and is forced to get 24/7 security at her home and office.
Both requests are in the hands of the judge; no official decision has been made.
