Andy Dickwas spotted slurring his words and behaving erratically on the streets of Los Angeles just weeks before the troubled comedian was found unresponsive on a Hollywood sidewalk on Tuesday, in what friends fear was a drug overdose. The 59-year-old actor, whose decades-long battles with addiction have been widely documented, appeared disoriented in a video filmed on November 8. The footage was shot the same night as the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, where OutKast and Missy Elliott were honored nearby. The resurfaced clip now casts a grim shadow over Dick’s latest health scare, which unfolded Tuesday when friends found him slumped over, unresponsive, and struggling to breathe.

In the November 8 video, captured by Instagram user @joy.of.everything, Andy Dick is seated on the sidewalk outside a crowded downtown L.A. movie theater, holding a clear plastic cup and engaging in slurred, confused banter with the person recording. “I always look good… thank you,” he responds when greeted by the videographer.

When asked who his favorite rapper is, Dick quickly fires back, “Missy Elliott.”

The videographer tells him OutKast was honored that night, prompting a bewildered exchange that highlights Dick’s disorientation. “Missy… Oh, OutKast. F-cking hell yeah,” Dick says before abruptly asking, "Wait, what?”

After the information is repeated, he becomes animated, shouting off-camera, “You didn’t know that, Billy? You’re Black!”

Dick rambles about knowing the duo from “MTV days,” jokes about being “on the curb” while they performed inside, and theatrically imagines staging a dramatic comeback moment, saying, “Say Andy is over there… ‘He’s a little down and out.’ Then I would jump up! And say I’m doing f-cking fine!"

At one point, he leans against the theater wall, laughing and raising his cup in the air.

One commenter recalled helping Dick recently, writing, “I bumped into Andy at a gas station in Encino and he told me he needed a ride to a friend’s house. I let him hop in. He was cool and down to earth.” Others, however, spoke to a darker pattern they’ve witnessed over the years. “Andy in the 90s was my ex-roommate. Dick's Attorney Downplays Viral Clip

In a statement to The Daily Mail, Dick’s attorney, Dan Kapelovitz, clarified that the comedian had just attended the premiere of T Bird, a film in which he appears, which is the reason he was wearing a VIP pass in the clip. “After doing the red carpet and watching the film, he sat down outside the theater to talk to people, which he likes to do,” Kapelovitz explained, adding that Dick was genuinely disappointed to have missed the OutKast tribute that night.

Still, the video’s timing, just weeks before his apparent overdose, paints a troubling picture of a star whose struggles appear to be escalating.
