‘Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Actress Wenne Alton Davis Struck And Killed By Cadillac

A beloved New York actress known for her appearance in "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" was tragically struck and killed in Manhattan on Monday evening, leaving friends and neighbors devastated. Wenne Alton Davis, born Wendy Paige Davis, died after a Cadillac making a left turn hit her as she crossed West 53rd Street near Broadway, just steps from Radio City Music Hall and the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. Police confirmed the 60-year-old actress had the right of way when she was struck. The 61-year-old driver remained at the scene and, as of now, has not been charged. Close friend and neighbor Edward Reynoso told the New York Daily News that the tragedy unfolded shortly after Davis left her Queens apartment to meet a friend for dinner and a movie.

Reynoso recalled sharing a heartfelt exchange with her earlier that day, one that now feels hauntingly significant. “She told me, ‘I love you, I appreciate you,’” he said. “It was so weird to me. It felt like she was saying goodbye.”

When Davis failed to text him later that evening, something she always did when traveling to or from Manhattan, Reynoso grew concerned. “I was worried. I was texting her, and she didn’t respond. I’m numb to tell you the truth. I can’t believe it.”

Reynoso said Davis moved into his building about five years ago with her cat and immediately became part of the building’s unofficial family. Their friendship blossomed through casual hallway conversations that turned into regular dinners.

“We used to go out for dinner. We’re all single,” he joked, adding that Davis’s personality made her unforgettable. “She was very driven, compassionate, giving. I will miss her smile, laugh, and joie de vivre.”

News of Wenne Alton Davis’ tragic death has sparked an outpouring of grief and frustration from the public. Many who learned of the circumstances of the crash expressed heartbreak, while others questioned why the driver has not been charged.
