Andy Dick Found Unresponsive On Hollywood Steps In Startling Scene

Comedian Andy Dick sparked serious concern after being discovered unresponsive on a set of Hollywood stairs during what witnesses described as an apparent overdose.

The shocking scene unfolded in broad daylight, with photos showing the disgraced star slumped forward, glasses on the ground, as bystanders rushed to help.

It was a frightening moment for those nearby, a moment that ended with emergency responders being called to the scene.

Witnesses said Andy Dick’s friends shouted “Wake up” while others quickly called 911 after finding the comedian unresponsive.

Photos obtained by TMZ showed him pitched forward on outdoor stairs in the middle of the day, appearing lifeless.

According to reports, some onlookers urged for Narcan, a life-saving medication that reverses opioid overdoses, and the drug was administered to Dick at the scene.

Despite the severity of the case, Dick was not taken to any hospital. The outlet reported that it is common for those revived by Narcan to decline hospital treatment once they regain consciousness.

Following the terrifying episode, Dick spoke to TMZ and confirmed that he was relieved to be okay after the ordeal, though he refused to share more details about what happened.

The overdose comes on the heels of several arrests that have kept Andy Dick in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

In January 2023, the “NewsRadio” star was arrested for public intoxication and failing to register as a sex offender, connected to a 2018 case involving an Uber driver who accused him of grabbing his crotch.

At the time, the driver, working for a ride-share service, filed a formal police report claiming that the 59-year-old reached over from the back seat and grabbed his genitals during a ride in West Hollywood.

According to prosecutors, Dick groped the man without consent, a charge of misdemeanor sexual battery.

The actor initially pleaded not guilty in 2019, arguing the allegations were “completely baseless.” Nonetheless, a jury convicted him in 2022.

As a result, he was sentenced to 90 days in Los Angeles County jail, ordered to register as a sex offender, pay restitution, and attend counseling, including 52 sessions of Alcoholics Anonymous and 52 sessions with Sexual Compulsives Anonymous.

Andy Dick’s 2023 arrest was his second in four months, as he had also faced a felony burglary charge in Santa Barbara for allegedly stealing power tools from someone’s garage in October 2022.

At the time, the authorities revealed that Dick had removed several power tools from a home under construction, and he was caught while trying to flee.

The homeowners also told police they didn’t know the comedian and hadn’t given him permission to be there.

Court documents showed that Dick pleaded not guilty to first-degree residential burglary, with his public defender, Brian Mathis, later telling PEOPLE, “The Santa Barbara County Office of the Public Defender represents Mr. Dick. We are confident additional facts will come to light supporting Mr. Dick as this case moves forward.”

Earlier that year, in May, Dick was arrested at O’Neill Regional Park in Orange County, California, after a man alleged the comedian had sexually assaulted him at a campground in the park.

Deputies responded around 9 a.m. to the park in Trabuco Canyon after the alleged victim reported the assault and was taken to a hospital for examination.

According to reports, the “Employee of the Month” star had been living in an RV at the campground among a group of livestreamers, and the arrest was reportedly captured on video.

He was booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of felony sexual battery, with bail set at $25,000.

By the next day, May 12, Dick had posted bail and was released.

However, prosecutors later dropped the case after the alleged victim stopped cooperating with the investigation.

The case remains unresolved, and no conviction resulted from the 2022 arrest.

Dick’s personal life has also been marked by allegations of violence and substance abuse within his family.

As The Blast reported, his estranged wife, Lena Sved, obtained a domestic violence restraining order against him in 2018, after two incidents involving their son, Jacob.

Court documents claimed that during one drunken altercation, Jacob was forced to lock Dick out of the house, only for the actor to break two front windows to get back inside.

Sved said Dick left behind a trail of broken glass and dishes before disappearing.

She also alleged that in another incident, Dick screamed and swore at Jacob, breaking dishes and flipping a coffee table.

Sved described his “cyclical drinking pattern” and said his destructive behavior when “blackout drunk” made her fear for her and her children’s safety.

The restraining order stopped Dick from coming within 100 years of his wife, son, and daughter, Meg. It remained in place for five years, expiring in March 2023.
