Ray J isn't catching a break from his troubles with the law, as he has a debt lawsuit to face.
The singer, infamously known for starring in a sex tape with Kim Kardashian, has recently been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. In the days leading to his November 27 arrest, he was accused of owing a six-figure sum.
Ray J's arrest stemmed from a viral livestreaming event, where he allegedly pulled out a gun and threatened his estranged wife, Princess Love. The former couple, who share two kids, are currently going through their fourth divorce filing.
American Express Sues Ray J And His Company Over Six-Figure Debt
According to new reports, American Express filed a lawsuit against Ray J and his streaming platform, Tronix Network, on November 19. The global financial services corporation dropped its allegations against the defendants in the Los Angeles Superior Court.
American Express claimed Ray J and his company owed $139,849.85 after breaching the terms of their contract. The company explained that the "Let It Go" hitmaker stopped making payments on the card in May and never repaid the six-figure balance.
According to US Weekly, neither Ray J nor his streaming platform has issued a response to the debt lawsuit. As stated, the filing came days before the singer was taken into custody for pulling a gun on his estranged wife and another party at his Porter Ranch home in California.

Hours after Ray J was taken into custody on November 27, Princess Love broke her silence on what happened in a video captioned "Enough is enough." The Blast covered the story, reporting that she poured out her grievances against her estranged husband.
Princess Love lamented about her acrimonious relationship with Ray J, noting that she might push for sole custody of their children to protect their peace and safety. The "Love & Hip Hop: Miami" noted that the incident stemmed from her wish to have a Thanksgiving celebration.
The mother of two claimed she wanted her kids to spend the holiday with their father; however, she refused to leave them in his custody without supervision. The last time they were left alone with Ray J, the minor children allegedly found him naked in bed with another woman.

Princess Love noted that she tried to take her kids away with the help of her cousin's husband, but the man's presence sent Ray J into a gun-threatening rage. She recalled him pulling the weapon on them without caring about their children's safety.
The incident traumatized Princess Love, who declared that she would protect her kids from all signs of danger, including "a man who's waving a gun around." She implored her estranged husband to seek professional help, stressing that he was more than a drunk.
On the other hand, Ray J defended his actions in a since-deleted post, claiming he felt threatened by the uninvited man in his house. He seemed shocked that he was arrested for defending his home, explaining that he only wanted Princess Love's cousin's husband to leave.

For pulling a gun on his estranged wife and her cousin's husband, Ray J was taken into custody for making a criminal threat. He was placed on a $50,000 bond and regained his freedom that same day, sharing his bizarre experience in a livestream.
The Blast reported that Ray J addressed his time in jail on a Kick stream, revealing that he nearly got into a fight with another inmate. He claimed a man had been "jacking off in jail" next to him and even called out his name during the act.
"Never go to jail, y'all. It's really bad," Ray J warned his followers, noting that the alleged incident had left a bitter taste in his mouth. Princess Love wasn't the only ex the entertainer was having problems with, as his feud with Kim Kardashian hasn't ended.

During his relationship with Kim, Ray J became embroiled in controversy after the sex tape he shot with the reality TV star was leaked in 2007. The Blast shared that he accused Kris Jenner of leaking the footage, leading to a defamation lawsuit against him.
However, Ray J fired back with a countersuit, alleging that he and Kim had willingly agreed to leak the tape. He claimed Kim wanted Kris to handle the process, and he agreed to the contract before they suddenly changed their tune to blame him for the leak.
Kim and Kris's attorney, Alex Spiro, slammed the countersuit as a losing battle. The legal rep argued that Ray J's filing was "frivolous," claiming he had no case and his "disjointed rambling distraction is not intimidating anyone."
