Singer Sabrina Carpenter is embracing her sexuality, and she doesn’t mind in the slightest about who sees! Growing up as a Disney child star, the 26-year-old hitmaker is now best known for the “Juno” positions that she performs on stage during her hit songs. This has led to backlash online that she is only making a living through releasing sexualized songs and content.

Over on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, one fan asked, “Does she have a personality outside of sex?” Sabrina commented, “girl yes and it is goooooood.” The comment sparked a lot of discussion in the comments, with one fan saying, “People are so afraid of being sexual.”

Another follower wrote, “Clearly they’ve never seen Sabrina outside her tour or music! Like ever!” Another fan added, “Sabrina, I can’t believe they don’t know you’re funny too.” A third follower shared, “People hate when a woman is beautiful, confident, and hilarious.” However, another added, “Given that your public image heavily relies on sex appeal, it’s surprising to hear you deny it.”

Sabrina Carpenter Discussed Her Album Art Controversy

When she released her album Man’s Best Friend, the original cover art featured her down on her hands and knees in front of a man, who was yanking up her hair. The artwork generated a lot of controversy online, especially from some who thought that it was too sexually suggestive for her younger fans.

In a recent interview, the “Espresso” singer admitted that she understood that some people could see that it was sexual; however, she didn’t actually intend for it to be that way. Instead, she said that she wanted to show how she had been “emotionally yanked around” in past relationships, which is what she wanted to reflect in the artwork.

Sabrina Addresses Being ‘Emotionally Yanked Around’ In Past Relationships

When asked about the album artwork for Variety's Hitmakers Issue, the “Nonsense” singer explained, “It was about how people try to control women, and how I felt emotionally yanked around by these relationships that I had, and how much power you’re allowing yourself to give them.”

“It meant one thing to me and 100 things to other people, and I was looking at it going, ‘That’s valid. Mine’s valid. What’s for dinner?'" she continued. "Not to bypass the weight that it did carry for some people. I saw it and was like, ‘That is a great point. It wasn’t the point I was trying to make.'"

Sabrina Carpenter Wanted To ‘Embrace’ Her Sexuality

Although she is known for being a Disney child star, the “Feather” singer admitted that she always wanted to embrace her sexuality when she got older after looking up to other role models in the industry. She said, "I always thought, 'When I grow up, then I get to embrace my sexuality more. I don’t even know what that means yet!'"

“People think, ‘Oh, she’ll say and do anything.’ No. I really do have boundaries with myself — you’d be surprised!” she continued. “I’m just actually living my life, and you’re watching. If you don’t like it, it’s not for you. If you do like it, let’s play.”
