Margot Robbie is opening up about the unique challenges she faced while filming her upcoming movie, "Wuthering Heights."
The actress revealed that she joined the set just three months after giving birth to her child and was quite anxious about being underprepared. She ultimately found reassurance and support on set through the director, Emerald Fennell.
Margot Robbie also revealed what fans should expect when the movie hits the theaters next year, while describing the project as a "big epic romance."

Ahead of the release of Emerald Fennell's upcoming movie adaptation of Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights, actress Margot Robbie spoke about some of the intimate sequences in the production and how it wouldn't be what many may expect.
"Everyone's expecting this to be very, very raunchy. I think people will be surprised," she said during an interview with British Vogue. "Not to say there aren't sexual elements and that it's not provocative – it definitely is provocative – but it's more romantic than provocative. This is a big epic romance."
She added that she sees the film as something that will satisfy a craving many romantic-movie fans have been missing, comparing it to classics like "The Notebook" and "The English Patient."
The actress also heaped praise on Fennell's directing, which she said was able to achieve this.
"'It's that feeling when your chest swells, or it's like someone's punched you in the guts and the air leaves your body. That's a signature of Emerald's. Whether it's titillating or repulsion, her superpower is eliciting a physical response," Robbie noted.
The Actress Was 'Weak At The Knees' During Some Of The Movie Scenes

Looking back on her experience filming with Jacob Elordi, Robbie said certain scenes left her "weak at the knees."
Among them was a moment when Heathcliff, played by Elordi, effortlessly lifted her character Cathy with one arm, and another where he protected her face from the rain.
Explaining why she felt that way, the actress noted that gestures like those reflect the kind of old-fashioned masculine bravado that women used to swoon over.
"It was the little things that we loved as two women in our 30s, and this movie is primarily for people in our demographic. These epic romances and period pieces aren't often made by women," she wrote.

Filming the movie also came with its own challenges for Robbie despite her years of experience in the industry.
At the time, she had only welcomed her child three months earlier and was still navigating life as a new mother.
"I was three months postpartum when we started shooting. So I was in a very different headspace. I didn't do my usual routine. It was more haphazard," Robbie admitted.
The Actress's Anxiety During Filming Was Eased By The Director

Fortunately for Robbie, her doubts were eased by the director, who reassured her that she was more than capable, even without extensive preparation.
"I remember saying to Emerald, 'What if I'm not prepared enough?' She kept saying, 'I don't want you to prepare. I just need you to be in the moment,'" Robbie recalled of her conversation with Fennell.
She continued, "Which was a lovely way of relieving my anxiety. It was about being in my body as opposed to my head."
The 'Barbie' Star Previously Opened Up About Motherhood

Robbie welcomed her child with her husband, Tom Ackerly, in October 2024, but has yet to reveal the name of the child.
Speaking of motherhood, the actress described the experience as "the best" in a previous interview.
"It's like, [when] you try to explain to someone who has kids, you don't need to because they get it, and if they don't, it's probably just really boring to hear," the mother of one said at the time, per the Daily Mail. "So, it's kind of like, 'It's the best,' you know?"
Despite being new parents, Robbie and her husband haven't let it stop them from having time to themselves, as they were recently spotted on a date night in Beverly Hills last month.
For the outing, the actress wore a tailored blazer and heels that showed off her smooth legs. Meanwhile, Ackerly also dressed in a casual cream sweater and gray slacks alongside a pair of white shoes.
