According to a source who spoke with Rob Shuter's #ShuterScoop, Zeta-Jones and her husband, Michael Douglas, were infuriated by Jennings' approach to the interview with Dylan.

The couple's reaction left Jennings "surprised" and keen to express his thoughts about why their response was unwarranted.

"I think that what happens with some of these folks is that they exist in a very tight little bubble. They never really talk to Republicans or conservatives. They don't really get outside of their bubbles, where people tell them how smart and good-looking they are," he told McCain.

"And then they wind up on television with someone of a different persuasion, and it's surprising to them," the pundit added.

Beyond being furious with Jennings and CNN, Zeta-Jones and her husband, Douglas, had other reactions to the controversial interview.

According to the #ShutterScoop source, the actress ranted to her friends about the interview being "unfair and exploitative." Douglas, on his part, told his close circle that the outlet "crossed a line."

They both also felt that their son wasn't prepared for such an intense interview, and allegedly hated every second of the interaction.

"Dylan's never been spoken to like that in his entire life. He's always been the golden boy — adored, protected. CNN gave him a taste of the real world, and his parents hated every second of it," said the source.

Moving forward, the Hollywood power couple reportedly intends to pay back CNN by blacklisting the "whole network."
