Garcelle Beauvais has never been shy about discussing her love life. During earlier episodes of Bravo's "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," the iconic actress opened up about her past flings with Hollywood's elite, including Michael Jordan, Will Smith, and Eddie Murphy. In recent years, Beauvais has been seen mingling with a few eligible suitors, but nothing seems to have stuck. According to Beauvais, though, part of the reason dating has been so hard over the last few years was because of the "Real Housewives" cameras following her every move. Now that she's no longer on the show, however, the "Coming to America" star says things have been better than ever.

Since splitting from her husband, Michael Nilon, in 2001, Beauvais has compiled quite a roster, but the former reality star is still looking for her special someone. She told Us Weekly during a recent interview that she's been dating and having fun, while also noting how difficult it was to form genuine connections on the show.

Beauvais explained that she's learning to find the perfect balance before admitting that dating on camera "was the tricky part for me." During her first season, which aired amid the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Beauvais claimed she was seeing someone, but had extreme reservations about him being part of the Bravoverse. "And the kind of guy I want to be with, I don't want him to want to be on a reality show. That's just me," she said.

Beauvais, who spent five years on the hit reality series, admitted that filming the show was a lot of fun, but she is now enjoying keeping the most sacred parts of her life to herself.

"You know, it was tough to be in that fishbowl. And I know the fandom is amazing, and everybody loves the show, and I took a lot away with me from it. But I'm also happy that I get to spend more time with my kids before they go off to college, and I get to do all these great creative things that I like to do," she said.

As previously reported by The Blast, Beauvais departed "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" after a contentious fifth season with the 90210 ladies. In a video on Instagram, the "Survival of the Thickest" actor said part of the reason she decided to leave was to focus on her twin sons, who are finishing their final year of high school.

During the clip, Beauvais also stated that she was ready to spread her wings and focus on new projects, such as producing and directing TV shows and movies. In September, she told a red carpet reporter that she was "thriving" since exiting the series, adding, "It's been really, really fun to just work on projects I wanna work on. I'm developing shows, I'm starring in shows, and it's just been really fantastic."

Beauvais Left The Show On A Hot Note

Beauvais' departure from "RHOBH" wasn't without controversy. In the final episode of season 14, Beauvais stormed off the set before telling producers she was "done" with the series. Later, eagle-eyed Bravo fans noticed Beauvais had unfollowed most of her former co-stars except for Jennifer Tilly and Kathy Hilton.

Beauvais' former best friend, Sutton Stracke, addressed the actor's move in an interview, revealing she was "in shock" by her actions. However, Stracke praised Beauvais as a "very strong woman" and wished her well in the future.

Regarding their friendship, Stracke admitted she was "hopeful" the pair would find their way back to each other. "I'm just hoping that Garcelle is good and happy and on the path that she wants to be on, which I know she is," she said.
