Prince Andrew’s shocking dismissal from the royal family is still in effect, as the former prince has now been officially stripped of his final royal honors.
Following an order from King Charles, Andrew’s name has been formally erased from official royal registers, and the honors formerly given to him by the late Queen Elizabeth have also been removed.
This decision follows new revelations that tied Andrew to the late felon, Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted of several sex-related crimes.
Prince Andrew’s Final Royal Honors Have Been Removed

Per the King’s directive, Prince Andrew’s name will now be erased from registers of the Order of the Garter, which is Britain’s most senior order of chivalry.
The former prince has also been cut off from the Royal Victorian Order. This is a prestigious recognition given to individuals who have rendered outstanding service to the royal family in the U.K. and across the Commonwealth at large. Notably, these were honors bestowed upon him by the late Queen Elizabeth.
As confirmed by People Magazine, the message was announced by the Central Chancery of the Orders of Knighthood. It read,
“THE KING has directed that the appointment of Andrew Albert Christian Edward MOUNTBATTEN-WINDSOR to be a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, dated 23 April 2006, shall be cancelled and annulled and that his name shall be erased from the Register of the said Order.”
Andrew also lost his title as Prince and is now to be referred to by his common name, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, not Prince Andrew.
The Process Of Stripping Prince Andrew’s Titles Began Weeks Ago

The update follows information almost a month after the palace initiated a formal process to remove Prince Andrew's titles and honors.
It began in late October, and according to Palace insiders, it was “entirely the King’s decision” and not as a result of pressure from the government or outside parties, as The Blast reported
The decision was taken after the King held lengthy private discussions over Andrew’s friendship with the disgraced felon, Epstein.
According to a Palace insider, the decision wasn’t taken overnight because “the process has been underway for some while, but there was a need to get it right in the face of some very big challenges."
The Palace confirmed this decision in a statement that noted it was “deemed necessary” to take action despite Andrew’s continued claims of innocence. The statement further sympathised with victims and survivors of abuse.
“Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse,” it read.
Andrew Has Reportedly Become ‘Dark And Fragile’ Following His Removal From The Royal Family

The Palace’s decision to distance itself from Andrew has reportedly thrown the former prince into a dark place mentally.
Palace insiders reported that there have been growing concerns about the former Duke of York’s mental state as he has been living in a “dark and fragile” condition.
According to The Blast, a source also shared that the former prince is struggling to adjust to life without his royal privileges and has become “deeply fragile” as a result of the enormous change. This has reportedly led to “real panic behind the scenes.”
The informant explained, "Andrew is now completely isolated and feels he's lost everything – his title, his home, his dignity. The family is terrified he might do something drastic. He's told people he has nothing left to live for."
Tensions Between Andrew And His Brother Have Reportedly Worsened

In addition to being isolated, Andrew is also reportedly at odds with his brother, now more than ever.
Sources revealed that because the King primarily decided to strip Andrew of all his honors, the two brothers are not on good terms. The King has now reportedly decided to sever ties with Andrew entirely,” leaving him isolated.
Furthermore, the source noted that although the “harsh” decision has been hard on Andrew, “it had to be done.”
King Charles Allowed Andrew To Keep His Military Medals

Despite Charles's decision to strip Andrew of all his honors, including his “last remaining title” as vice admiral, he allowed his brother to keep the medals he earned during his years of military service.
The Blast confirmed that the former Prince was allowed to retain medals from the Falklands War, during which he served as a Sea King helicopter co-pilot.
He was also allowed to keep medals awarded for operational service.
