Jim Edmonds Flaunts Custody Victory Amid Meghan King’s Lonely Thanksgiving

Jim Edmonds is counting his blessings, and at the top of the list is the recent change in the custody arrangement involving his ex-wife, Meghan King.

Following King and Edmonds’ split in 2019, the estranged pair continued to co-parent their three kids. However, things have recently taken a major turn, with Edmonds now granted sole custody and King having limited access.

This Thanksgiving, the 55-year-old former baseball star is proudly showing off his kids, whom he is most grateful for.

Over the weekend, the former MLB player took to his Instagram to share some fun-filled moments from the family celebration. The nine-slide carousel opened up with a snap of Jim, Aspen, Hart, Hayes, and his new wife, Kortnie, all smiles as they posed outside a ranch.

The following slides showed highlights from Aspen's ninth Taylor Swift-themed birthday. A pink birthday cake decorated with the phrase "Feeling 9 (Aspen's Version)" along with heart emojis, a guitar, and a football with the number “87,” a playful nod to Swift's fiancé, Travis Kelce, and his Kansas City Chiefs jersey.

Other pictures featured Aspen happily holding a labubu toy and pink balloons. Edmonds captioned the post, "What a week! A lot to be thankful for," tagging Kortnie to it.

While Edmonds enjoyed the holiday with their children, King spent it by herself.

According to The Blast, a source revealed that although the reality TV star is allowed supervised visits on Tuesdays and Thursdays, she did not mark Thanksgiving with her little ones. 

Instead, the youngsters were scheduled to celebrate with Edmonds and his wife at their Tennessee home, leaving King alone.

This new arrangement follows a Child Protective Services investigation that resulted in King temporarily losing custodial rights. A court hearing set for later this month will determine whether that decision becomes permanent.

Before King’s defeat as primary caregiver, tensions had been high between her, Edmonds, and his new partner. Months back, Jim and Kortnie slammed the TV personality with a restraining order, which King did not protest to avoid more legal drama.

According to the documents, Kortnie recalled that the encounter began with King arriving at her residence, demanding to drop off a dress, which Kortnie insisted she could leave at the door. 

However, King refused, and Kortnie claimed King ignored repeated requests to leave, and Jim backed her account, noting he had video evidence of the incident.

The court document confirmed that a consent order, established in June, requires King and  Edmonds to keep a distance of at least 150 feet from one another whenever they attend events or activities involving the children.

King's temporary loss of custodial rights reportedly stems from a serious incident involving one of her twin sons. Per The Blast, Child Protective Services became involved after King allegedly instructed a school nurse to administer Ritalin to the child.

However, he had not been officially diagnosed with ADHD and did not have a prescription for the medication. A teacher became aware of the request and alerted authorities, leading to an investigation and the court's decision to grant Edmonds sole responsibility for the children.

Following the setback, King received support from her Bravo colleagues. Emily Simpson, who is handling her son’s ARFID diagnosis, urged the public not to judge King, noting she herself avoids speculation without knowing the facts. 

Gina Kirschenheiter emphasized that details from legal documents should remain private to protect the children, while Tamra Judge expressed hope that the matter will be resolved soon.

Although King was unable to celebrate with her daughter, she made sure Aspen felt the love on her special day. 

Taking to her Instagram Stories, King penned a heartfelt note to her girl. She wrote, "A spectacular gift from God was born nine years ago today. That's when I learned what love is. I love you, Aspen King Edmonds. I love you to infinity."

As the custody case continues, King has remained quiet on social media regarding the legal battle, seemingly waiting for the court's final decision, set to happen this month.
