Jenna Ortega is not backing down from her warning against the excessive use of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) in Hollywood.

The actress is taking a strong stance against the introduction and absorption of A.I. into the entertainment industry. She warns of the dangers to come along and insists that a myriad of issues will evolve if the use of A.I. continues.

Ortega gave her piece at the jury press conference of the Marrakech Film Festival on Saturday. While discussing the heightened use of artificial intelligence in Hollywood, she expressed her fears, noting that the industry might just be diving into deep waters.

The actress is the youngest member ever of the jury but did not hold back while spilling her thoughts on the matter. She noted that as humans, we often take things so far, and that scares her with the A.I., as we might stretch to a point of no return.

The uncertainty of the situation frightens her, as she expressed, and she hopes that it does not get to the extreme.

"It's very easy to be terrified. I know I am in times like these of deep uncertainty. And it kind of feels like we've opened up a Pandora's Box," she said while arguing that A.I. cannot reproduce the authentic human imperfections.

The natural feel that comes with acting and storytelling, which makes the human audience resonate and build connections, is therefore lost.

Per Deadline, Ortega expressed that she hopes that it gets to a point where the audience gets fed up and sick of watching screens with "some sort of mental junk food A.I." When this happens, people would begin to yearn for raw and exciting human work.

Besides speaking on the downsides of artificial intelligence in the industry, the 23-year-old recalled her personal experiences. She revealed that as a minor, she had seen fake, sexually explicit images of herself on multiple social media platforms. In her words on The Interview podcast with The New York Times:

"I hate AI,' she stated. '... Did I like being 14 [years old] and making a Twitter account because I was supposed to, and seeing dirty edited content of me as a child? No. It's terrifying. It's corrupt.' It's wrong. It's disgusting."

She also revealed that she had received unsolicited pictures of a man's genitals when she was just 12 years old. Because of these experiences and more, she became scared and decided to stay off social media.

The Daily Mail shares that it became worse after "Wednesday" came out, and notwithstanding encouragement by others to keep her accounts to build her image, the explicit photos prompted her to delete X.

Despite her strong opinions, the actress acknowledged the incredible things A.I. has contributed to society, like detecting breast cancer in its early stages. She believes that its use should continue, but for good intent.

Ortega spoke her truths about growing up in Hollywood. She disclosed the challenges she faced being so young in the industry and the aftereffects it had on her. She explained that earlier in her career, she often felt ignored and dismissed.

Many people in the industry could not accept her personality as a young and outspoken woman, either. "I've always known what it's like not to have a voice, and that terrifies me. I don't want to be in that situation again," the actress shares.

Continuing, she strives to ensure her voice is used in the most professional, efficient, and kind way possible. Ortega also revealed that she developed a sense of insecurity as a result of these challenges, and The Blast shares that her fame as a young actress also caused her to become an introvert.

One thing Ortega is known for is speaking up publicly and online, regardless of the topic. In 2019, she publicly criticized Alabama's abortion law, calling attention to its harmful implications.

She expressed her feelings on her socials, stating how sad she was by the Alabama Abortion Law. Ortega declared it a sickening, disappointing, and unconstitutional attack on Women's Fundamental Rights.

It did not end there, as The Blast reported that in 2022, the TV star joined a coalition of young artists and influencers, including Olivia Rodrigo and 158 other artists, to sign an ad as part of the "Ban off our bodies" campaign.

In the first quarter of the year, Ortega revealed that she would be leaving the "Scream" franchise. Speculations were made that she was leaving due to issues with the schedules and the pay, but the actress cleared them.

According to earlier releases, Ortega explained that she did not feel comfortable continuing filming while people she loved would be absent.

Her co-star, Melissa Barrera, got fired at the time, and "the whole thing was falling apart." Staying on the show did not feel like the right career move, and so she stuck with her gut. She also showed support for Barrera by constantly reaching out to check on her well-being.

Will the entertainment industry go down because of A.I., just as Jenna Ortega predicts?
