Kody Brown seems to be done with the constant tension surrounding his plural family, as he has now expressed a desire to formally apologize to his ex-wives.

His reflections come months after the family sold their jointly owned Coyote Pass property, a symbolic moment that marked the final unraveling of what once tied them together.

This moment of clarity appears to be a turning point for the "Sister Wives" patriarch, who has also admitted he has no intention of ever marrying again due to the emotional strain that came with plural marriage.

Kody appears ready to lay the long-standing tension between himself and ex-wives Meri, Janelle, and Christine to rest.

In an exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming episode of Sister Wives, shared via PEOPLE Magazine, he reveals his intention to take responsibility for his part in the family breakdown.

“After that whole experience, it was still just weird at Coyote Pass,” Kody told Robyn, referencing the lingering awkwardness during the property sale months earlier, when none of the ex-wives even spoke to Kody and Robyn as they signed the papers.

He continued, “And then you talking to me about getting therapy, I kind of just prayerfully tuned in, trying to go, ‘Okay God, what should I do about this mess that I'm in and how I feel?’ I just started getting this vibe that I need to go apologize.”

Kody noted that he wants to face each ex-wife and end the cycle of conflict directly. “What I need to own about the breakups, about how things happened with the family… I want to set them free, just get them to stop thinking, talking, being about me,” he declared.

Following Kody's revelation, Robyn, in a confessional, expressed her shock upon hearing his intention to apologize.

"I was trying really hard not to give him too much reaction because I was processing it," she explained. "He says a lot of things that may not even happen."

Still, she tried to reassure him, saying, “I don't think you should be so hard on yourself about being hurt; that's pretty normal.”

Kody, however, insisted that his anger contributed to deeper family wounds, and he needs to take accountability.

Months earlier, the drama surrounding Coyote Pass exposed heavy cracks in the family dynamic.

According to The Blast, in April, the Browns officially closed the chapter on their once-shared dream property in Flagstaff, selling the land for $1.5 million and earning a profit of roughly $680,000 from their initial purchase price of $820,000.

Christine had previously signed over her portion to Kody and Robyn for just $10 in 2022.

The land was sold in separate parcels. A 2.42-acre lot held by Kody and Robyn sold for $305,000. A 2.42-acre lot co-owned by Meri and Janelle also sold for $305,000, while a 4.48-acre parcel sold for $400,000. The final plot closed at $490,000.

All sales were finalized on April 14, 2025.

After years of emotional chaos, Kody now admits he would never return to polygamy.

“I had 18 kids with four wives,” he said, reflecting on the downside of plural marriage, per The Blast. “It has been three divorces, and I would never do that again — I would never marry again.”

Discussing the damage caused by the breakdown of his marriages, the Brown patriarch said, “There ended up being some bad blood with family over the divorces. In some cases with my children, communication has ceased.”

Kody also acknowledged that his upbringing influenced his choices, sharing that his father had three wives.

Kody Brown’s Child Calls Him Out Online

Kody might not only have to apologize to his ex-wives but also to some of his children, who have since become estranged after the divorce.

The family tension continues, as Kody’s transgender son, Leon, whom he shares with ex-wife Meri, recently slammed him on social media.

On the show, Kody claimed he had reached out to all his children “multiple times” and suggested any broken relationships were due to them not reciprocating. This prompted Leon to break their social media silence.

As reported by The Blast, on their Instagram Stories, Leon wrote, “Taking a break from my social media hiatus to say one thing. There’s a ridiculous video of my father circulating where he says he reaches out to his children.”

They continued, “Let me be so f-cking clear: I have not heard from that man since my brother killed himself. Kody blatantly blew me off at Garrison's funeral. He is a liar. He is a joke of a father. That's all.”

The emotional statement underscores the deep fractures within the Brown family, fractures that no amount of property sales or televised apologies may fully mend.
