It has been over a year since Shannen Doherty's passing, but her estate continues to fight in her name.
The late actress's estate and her ex-husband, Kurt Iswarienko, are currently butting heads in a legal battle over unfulfilled agreements from their divorce settlement.
Shannen Doherty took her final breath on July 13, 2024, a day after signing an agreement to finalize the end of her marriage to Kurt Iswarienko. However, some terms have not been honored.
Shannen Doherty's Estate Wants Her Ex-Husband To Keep His End Of The Bargain

According to new legal documents, Chris Cortazzo, the trustee of the Shannen Doherty Family Trust, called out her ex-husband for failing to fulfill the terms of their divorce settlement. Cortazzo filed the papers to become the Successor in Interest to Decedent.
Cortazzo needed the new status to enforce the judgment between Doherty and Iswarienko. He filed the legal documents on November 24, including the former couple's divorce judgment as an exhibit to showcase Iswarienko's refusal to honor the agreement.
The judgment obtained by The Daily Mail stated that Iswarienko would put the former couple's Texas home on the market by April 1, 2025. Once sold, he was to "equally divide the net proceeds" with Doherty's estate, but he had allegedly refused to list the property for sale.
The Late Actress' Ex Was Accused Of Owing Her Estate

Besides failing to list the Texas home for sale, Iswarienko was also accused of refusing "to return Decedent's items of personal property." He allegedly owed Doherty's estate money after agreeing to buy out the late actress's interest in her Mooney-20 Airplane for $100,000 following the sale of an airplane hangar.
"Upon the sale of the Hangar in August 2024, one month after Decedent's death, Respondent unilaterally withheld $50,274 from his payment to Decedent's estate," the legal documents claimed. Cortazzo added that Iswarienko's "payment is now 15 months delinquent."
Additionally, Iswarienko was meant to provide a list of the works he produced during his marriage to Doherty and copies of his work published during their union by September 1, 2024. However, none of these requests have been honored in the past 14 months.
The 'Beverly Hills, 90210' Alum Was Granted A Posthumous Victory In Her Divorce Case

As stated, Doherty had signed a divorce settlement a day before her passing in July 2024. The Blast reported that she died legally married to Iswarienko and should have remained linked to him following her death under the law.
When someone embroiled in a divorce proceeding dies, the family law court loses jurisdiction over the case under the law in California and most states. The case gets transferred to the probate court, but probate judges do not finalize divorces.
In a typical case, Doherty would have died legally married to Iswarienko; however, she regained her single status after her death. The family law judge presiding over her case had signed the divorce papers, and the divorce judgment was posthumously entered.
The Decedent's Pals Revealed Her Final Plans

Following Doherty's passing, her "Charmed" co-stars made a tribute episode for the "House of Halliwell" podcast to honor her memory. The Blast covered the story, reporting that they reflected on her life, particularly her final wishes.
Holly Marie Combs revealed that Doherty never believed she was going to die as soon as she did, recalling how she was so full of life and ready to make new memories. "That was her goal. That was her dream life. Her next trip was going to be to Italy," she claimed.
"She was considering moving to Italy," Combs added. Drew Fuller echoed similar sentiments, claiming that he and Doherty had made plans to travel the world. He noted that she had contemplated building a new house in Tennessee or Italy.
Shannen Doherty's Mom Reflected On Her Heartbreaking Loss

The decedent's pals weren't the only ones who honored her memory, as her mom shed more light on her life and years-long battle with cancer. The Blast shared that Rosa Doherty had reflected on her daughter's passing on a September 2024 episode of the "Let's be Clear" podcast.
Rosa co-hosted the episode with Cortazzo, each sharing their favorite memories about Shannen. The grieving mother noted that it was a blessing to have these memories to remember her daughter by, but they were not enough to soften the blow of losing a child.
The late actress's mom noted that no parent should live longer than their children, describing Shannen's death as "such a loss." Rosa explained that she could break down at any moment but tried to remind herself that everything that happened was God's plan.
Will Shannen Doherty's ex-husband fulfill the terms of their divorce settlement or go down the legal battle route?
