'RHOSLC' Star Mary Cosby's Son's Wife Files For Divorce Days After His Arrest For Violating Restraining Order

"Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" star Mary Cosby's son, Robert Cosby Jr., is dealing with a lot right now.

According to several new reports, Robert's wife, Alexiana Arian Smokoff, has filed for divorce from the 22-year-old after secretly marrying in 2022.

Robert Cosby's legal woes come during a challenging time for him, as he opened up to the "Real Housewives" star during season 4 of the Utah-based series about his addiction struggles, leading to support from viewers worldwide.

Mary Cosby's Son's Wife Has Filed For Divorce

Smokoff officially filed for divorce from Robert Cosby Jr. in Salt Lake City on Monday, November 24, according to legal documents reviewed by PEOPLE.

The petition explicitly states that neither party should "harass" or "intimidate" the other "by any means, including electronically."

Additionally, Robert Cosby Jr. and Smokoff are prohibited from committing "domestic violence or abuse against the other party or a child, use the other party's name, likeness, image, or identification to get credit, open an account for service, or obtain a service, cancel or interfere with telephone, utility, or other services used by the other party, cancel, modify, terminate, change the beneficiary."

Mary Cosby's Son Was Arrested In Early November 2025

Smokoff's divorce filing comes weeks after Robert Cosby Jr. was arrested in early November and charged with violating a pretrial protective order, which is also a Class A misdemeanor in Utah.

Legal documents further revealed that the day of his arrest, Robert was additionally charged with property damage and assault on a police officer.

Robert Cosby Jr. was booked in the Salt Lake County Jail, where he remains incarcerated.

In a statement, the Cosby family lawyer provided the public with an update on Robert Cosby Jr., noting that he's ready to own his "mistakes."

"Robert was slow to recognize that his marriage was over. He continued to make contact with his ex-wife in an effort to reconcile. He now realizes that the relationship is over and he must move on," the statement continued.

In September, Robert Cosby Jr. had another run-in with the law after an alleged "domestic violence matter" with his then-wife, according to NBC News.

Law enforcement officials later revealed that Robert allegedly assaulted his father-in-law and refused to comply with their commands.

The Cosbys Spoke Openly About Robert's Addiction Struggles

While upsetting, this isn't the first time Mary and Robert Cosby Jr. have been candid about the deeply personal struggles the young adult has been facing for some time.

In a season 5 episode of "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City," Mary had an emotional conversation with Robert about his addiction struggles, during which he admitted to using Xanax and Adderall.

Later in the conversation, Robert explained his drug use, stating, "Sometimes I feel like, I don't know, life is like just chicken unseasoned, but I don't know. When I get high, it's adding seasoning to it."

During the "RHOSLC" after-show, Mary revealed how touched she was that her son felt comfortable enough to speak with her about such a vulnerable topic.

"I was just floored. You want your kids to talk to you and be able to come to you and talk to you, and you also want to give them the tools to be able to say 'no.' But I feel like he was vulnerable in that time, and the fact that we can get here and he can say, 'You know what mom, this is how it started.'... I thought it was progress," she said.

Amid her family's ongoing challenges, Mary Cosby must also deal with a new TLC documentary that promises to expose the truth behind her Utah church, Faith Temple Pentecostal.

Over the years, Mary and her church have faced allegations of being a cult, and according to a previous report from The Blast, "The Cult Of The Real Housewife" will "unpack the allegations behind the headlines and reveal the darker and more unsettling truth" about Mary and her husband, who happens to be her step-grandfather, Robert Cosby Sr.

The three-part docuseries will document the foundation of Mary's church, established by her late grandmother, Rosemary Cosby, and the "controversial transfer of leadership." Additionally, the new TLC production will feature chilling stories from Mary's family members and investigative journalists who've been following Faith Pentecostal behind the scenes from the beginning.
