Ex-ESPN Star Reveals Sad Reason Bill Belichick Couldn't Land Top NFL Jobs Despite Success With The Patriots

Bill Belichick has come under fire from Pablo Torre again, just days after the coach's girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, threatened to sue.

The former ESPN analyst shared his view on why the UNC coach was unable to land another NFL job after his split from the New England Patriots. During his commentary, Torre also used some strong words for Belichick, calling him a savant in football but "a total idiot" in other areas.

The football commentator has since responded to Bill Belichick's girlfriend's lawsuit threat with a sarcastic remark about her not appearing on his show.

Belichick shocked the football world with his move to UNC after a stellar career with the New England Patriots, which won him multiple Super Bowl wins.

Now, it appears the veteran coach may have turned to college football only because NFL teams were not interested in offering him a job, a situation for which a former ESPN analyst has offered an explanation.

During an appearance on the "Joe Budden Podcast," Torre claimed that Belichick was passed over partly because many teams no longer trusted his "ability to surround himself with the right people," particularly those he would work closely with in football operations.

Torre also mentioned that Belichick had requested complete control of the program by telling potential NFL suitors he wanted to serve as both general manager and head coach.

This also appeared to be something the teams were not willing to accommodate, despite his pedigree.

Speaking further about Belichick's transition to college football, Torre hinted that the coach's recent struggles to adapt are likely due to the reason he previously highlighted.

"Bill Belichick is now flailing at Carolina, what I think about is, god damn, they supported him in New England. He had the people around him to make up for the ways he was deficient," said the football commentator.

Torre then dished out some harsher words about the 72-year-old, including a remark allegedly made by Belichick's former employer, Bob Kraft, as quoted in Seth Wickersham's 2021 book It's Better to Be Feared.

"Bob Kraft, the owner of the Patriots, once said he is an idiot savant," said Torre, before doubling down with an explanation of his view about the remark.

"He is a savant in football, the greatest defensive strategist in the history of football, and yet, he is a total idiot in lots of other ways," Torre added.

Torre's remarks about Belichick come on the heels of him being threatened with a lawsuit by the coach's girlfriend, Jordan Hudson.

Hudson took to her Instagram page to tag the journalist in her threat, along with a picture of herself displaying her all-access pass to the UNC stadium.

She did not explain why she intends to pursue legal action, but some fans suggested it may be related to defamation.

Torre has made multiple claims about the cheerleader and her relationship with Belichick, once claiming family members were worried about the coach's legacy amid his romance with Hudson.

On X, Torre responded to Hudson's lawsuit threat with a sarcastic comment referencing his earlier invitation for Hudson to appear on his show and clarify the statements she and Belichick made in a leaked video from the NFL legend's program.

He wrote, "Hi @Jordonbella, I assume this means you're declining my invitation to be a guest on @pablofindsout?"

"Either way, I look forward to hearing from you! Thanks, Pablo," Torre added.

Since Hudson's relationship with coach Bill Belichick went viral, Torre has repeatedly criticized their romance and has launched multiple investigations into their activities.

He recently released a video on his eponymous show that appears to show Hudson and Belichick complaining about the graphics handlers on the set of the NFL legend's show at NFL Films Studios.

Earlier in the year, he also claimed that higher-ups at UNC were "deeply concerned" about Hudson and her "presence in the building."

Another accusation from Torre involved Hudson allegedly being banned from UNC athletic facilities.

The claim was later proven false after the University of North Carolina released a statement confirming that Hudson will manage all activities related to the coach's "personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University."
