Simpson sat down for a segment with Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, where she went over some of her past TV interviews.

During their chat, she watched an old clip from 23 years ago where she spoke about her time on Ashton Kutcher's series "That '70s Show," in which her character Annette Berkardt was Kutcher's character, Michael Kelso's love interest.

As fate would have it, the storyline had her character Berkardt tell Kutcher's character that she was a virgin just about the same time she publicly declared the same in real life.

In the 2002 interview, she said, "I was just shooting a scene with Ashton — Michael — and I was telling him that we couldn't do it because I was a virgin."

The "Irresistible" singer mentioned how she'd "never forget" Kutcher's reaction when she let slip the fact that she was a virgin at 22. However, she revealed that Kutcher was surprised and couldn't understand why she was refraining from having sex until she got married.

"I'll never forget telling Ashton I was a virgin," Simpson said. "He was like, 'Why?'"

She continued: "I was like, 'Because I haven't met my husband yet.''

Simpson would later go on to marry Nick Lachey that year, but their relationship ended soon after in 2006.

She then tied the knot again in 2014 with former football star Eric Johnson, with whom she shares three children, daughters Maxwell and Birdie, and son Ace.

The former couple wed after 4 years of dating but split after celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary last year.

In her 2020 memoir "Open Book," she wrote about her inner struggles keeping up the chastity before marrying Lachey, calling it a constant test of her "commitment to virginity," per the Daily Mail.

"One time, Nick hugged me, and I thought I was just going to burst into flames," Simpson said. "I had to push him away, not because I didn't trust him, but because I was teetering on the edge of just giving in."

According to the news outlet, she also shared that she was borderline "frustrated" with the unsettling and inappropriate questions reporters resorted to asking her about her sex life.

"It gave America a storyline to follow," Simpson wrote. "The sexy virgin and the long-suffering, but still understanding, hot prince. Nick loved the fact that I was so strong in my faith."

Yet, she was in for a rude shock when she finally consummated her marriage with her then-husband, saying she was eager for it, but the built-up "anticipation" didn't match what she got.

She wrote in her memoir that she expected the first time she "had sex with [her] husband ... to be this transcendent experience where the heavens parted."

"What I didn't know then is that everyone's first time is awkward, and that is part of it. And that it's OK, but at the time, it's tough to understand," she added.

Simpson seems to have some regrets over the happenings in her life, especially as it relates to her marital status.

In a conversation with People Magazine, she declared that she "absolutely" never saw herself being a single mom at age 45, but weighed in on how she's powering through it.

"I feel like we get caught up in numbers," the singer said about the obsession with age sometimes . "Like, 'Oh, at 45, would I think that I would be single again as a mom of three?' Absolutely not. That was not how I planned it. But it's just a part of what destiny holds for me."

"This time in my life, I was meant to be independent in my self-discovery without anybody else's critiques, judgments, or opinions," she continued. "It was really about coming home to myself, being proud of that person, coming from a place of being just very honest and very vulnerable, and putting that into melodic form, but also using it in the brand. It has been really empowering."

Earlier this month, Simpson celebrated her 8th year of sobriety, sharing a cute selfie of herself on social media. In the post, she weighed in on the role alcohol played in her life and decried how it "blocked" her dreams from manifesting.

"8 years ago today I made the choice to confront, to confess and to let go of the self-sabotaging parts of my life that I was choosing," Simpson wrote, per the Daily Mail.

"Making that decision allowed me to fully live in the pursuit of God's purpose for my life. Alcohol silenced my intuition, blocked my dreams, and chased my circulating fears of complacency,' she continued, adding, "Today I am clear. Today I am driven by faith."

The singer concluded by saying both fear and faith are "something that we feel and may not see," but that she was elated she "chose faith over fear," adding that it "was not in the fight that I found my strength, it was in the surrender."
