Candace Cameron Bure Calls Past Feuds 'Weird,' Says She's Not Interested In Fighting

Bure might be the lovable DJ Tanner on "Full House," but her real life has been a talking point more than once over the years—especially during her stint on "The View," when she spoke openly about polarizing issues.

Bure's stances on issues like traditional family values and US politics have sparked some pushback from major celebs, including JoJo Siwa and her "Full House" co-star, Jodi Sweetin.

However, Bure admittedly doesn't see some of those encounters as feuds. In fact, she claimed they were flat out "just weird."

Bure's been slammed online a number of times, and it's rare to see her clap back.

"I usually don't fight back in the comments because nothing really comes from it," she told Prewett. "I feel like when you fight back in the comments, it becomes defensive. I feel like the more people defend themselves, the less integrity it holds."

According to Bure, she's now entered a space in which she lets "God fight my battles ... online."

And God isn't the only one the 49-year-old is depending on to defend her against the criticism.

"I also let the other people who are genuine fans fight my battles for me, too," she said. "Because sometimes they come in, they're like, 'She doesn't do that. That's not what she meant by that.' And so I'm like, 'You guys can do that.'"

Elsewhere during the podcast, Bure admitted that it takes immense faith and "self-control" to ignore some of the hate that sometimes fills her social media.

"You're like, 'God, I just have to let that go 'cause I'm not gonna please everybody, and just help me walk my walk that is honoring and pleasing to you as best as I can. Help me learn and discern,'" she said. "That's the biggest thing."

Bure also admitted that her self-reflection has helped her learn to give "grace" to other people as well.

"I pray the Holy Spirit gives me self-control every day, especially in those situations, 'cause it feels brutal because you can't win," she said.

Bure has certainly had her fair share of public disputes, and one that stunned netizens the most was with "Dance Moms" alum JoJo Siwa.

Years ago, Siwa made a TikTok video slamming the "Fuller House" star for allegedly being rude to her when she was a kid.

The pair eventually spoke, and Siwa expressed regret over her video until she claimed she learned "some shady things that she has done and some shady organizations that she has worked with."

Siwa was referring to Bure's stance on "traditional marriage," which she said would remain a priority at the Great American Family network, where she serves as Chief Content Officer.

"Honestly, no real shade anymore to Cameron, I just wouldn't have her on my podcast, you know what I mean?" Siwa said. "If I saw her, I would just not say hi."

Another celebrity who has spoken out about her dynamic with Bure is her ex-co-star, Sweetin.

The pair played sisters on the ABC sitcom from 1987 to 1995, and again in the 2016 Netflix revival.

Sweetin got candid about their dynamic during an episode of "The Vault," according to PEOPLE, sharing that while she and Bure have differing opinions, they've never "got into it."

"She posted her viewpoint, and I posted mine. We've always been very different on those things," she said. "Candace and I – we just live very different lifestyles. We just exist in sort of very different worlds, but she is still someone I have known since I was 5 years old."
