The Bills' matchup against the Texans didn't play out the way Josh Allen had envisioned, and he let his frustration with the team's performance show even before the game was over.

During the fourth quarter, he violently slammed his helmet on the ground after a stalled drive.

The team had failed to take advantage of converting a fourth-and-27 late in the quarter and, in doing so, lost the momentum they had gathered.

Beyond slamming his helmet in frustration, Allen also appeared to exchange words with backup quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, seemingly over the team's performance.

It was later speculated by lip readers that he had asked his teammate, "What are we doing?"

Allen also contributed to the team's poor performance, throwing for only 253 yards on 24-of-34 passing with two interceptions.

"When your superstar QB who won MVP last year is slamming his helmet, asking what you're doing... It's time to get rid of the coaching staff," a third netizen noted.

"It's beyond Amateur hour at this point. It's just tragic," one more person remarked.

Some folks also claimed Allen could have done more to stop the team from losing to the Texans.

Midway through the game, Allen was hit with a vicious tackle from behind that left him sprawling on the ground.

His teammates quickly scrambled around him as he appeared to be in pain, followed by members of the training staff rushing in to check on him.

Although the reigning MVP ultimately didn't suffer any injury, his coach, Sean McDermott, voiced his displeasure over his quarterback not being fully protected by his teammates.

"When they hit the quarterback 12 times, I don't like that, I don't like that stat at all," he said in a post-match interview, per New York Post. "It's not a healthy way to play or a healthy way to keep our quarterback healthy through the remainder of the season. That's just not a good formula right there."

McDermott was not the only one who chided the team for their loss, as Allen also voiced his displeasure with their performance after the game.

The quarterback stated that they had a good chance of winning, but unfortunately lost due to several mistakes.

"We had a chance to win it there at the end," he said. "We did a good job of staying in it, and our defense bailed us out a couple of times."

Allen added, "We've got to find a way, and we didn't."

Earlier in the month, Allen was fined by the league after he performed a "violent gesture" during his team's win over the Chiefs.

Following a third-quarter touchdown, Allen appeared to make a throat-slash gesture as part of his celebration with teammate Elijah Moore.

The amount he was fined was $14,491, a few hundred more than the $13,888 fine Moore received for participating in the gesture.

In the past, the star quarterback has also been hit with several fines totaling thousands of dollars.

In 2019, he was fined $7,000 for throwing the ball into the stands while celebrating a touchdown. He was also penalized $15,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct in 2021 and $10,297 for another celebratory gesture in 2023.
