A new legal battle is erupting inside the Jackson family, and this time, it’s Paris Jackson leading the charge. The 27-year-old has filed a forceful petition against the Michael Jackson Estate, accusing longtime executors John Branca and John McClain of running a secretive, self-serving operation that has allowed probate to stretch on for more than fifteen years. Her filing alleges staggering executive payouts, unexplained delays, and a lack of transparency toward Michael’s heirs, claims that have immediately reignited long-simmering tensions within one of the world’s most famous families. But those familiar with the Estate say Paris’ move is not a sudden discovery of wrongdoing, but rather the newest chapter in a conflict that has simmered since the day the executors were appointed.

According to Stacy M. Brown, who has covered the Jacksons for decades, Paris’s filing “radiates anger, suspicion, and the weight of history,” reopening a divide that stretches back long before she ever stepped into a courtroom.

Brown claims Paris' petition accuses executors Branca and McClain of turning probate into a “forever machine” that enriches themselves while withholding transparency from her and her brothers. But Brown notes that this battle is not new. A faction of the Jackson family, historically including Randy Jackson and, at times, Janet Jackson, has long opposed Branca and McClain’s leadership.

Sources tell Brown that this “older and more complicated” family war is now finding a new public face in Paris.

Jackson Accuses Estate Of Hoarding $460 Million While Delaying Financial Reports

In her filing, Paris alleges the Estate is hoarding more than $460 million in cash, which she says earned “next to nothing” in 2021. She claims the executors paid themselves $7,981,204 in fees that year, while Branca’s law firm received an additional $2,162,439, totaling more than $148 million in executor fees over time.

She argues that while the executors prosper, she and her brothers are left waiting for financial updates that arrive years late. Yet according to Brown’s reporting, the rest of the story “inside the documents” paints a drastically different picture, one that Paris’s filing “does not allow.”

Brown’s sources emphasize that Branca and McClain inherited a financial catastrophe, more than $500 million in debt, burdened by damaging allegations, and facing an uncertain future. Under their leadership, however, the Estate has transformed into a multi-billion-dollar global force now valued at more than $3 billion, with its projects generating over $2 billion in worldwide ticket sales.

Their achievements include “This Is It,” the highest-grossing concert film in history; “MJ: The Musical,” a multi–Tony Award-winning Broadway hit; Cirque du Soleil’s “The Immortal World Tour” and “Michael Jackson ONE”; and the landmark $600 million Sony catalog deal that fortified the Estate’s long-term financial strength.

Brown also notes that Katherine Jackson has received more than $60 million in Estate support since 2009, a testament to the love Michael always showed his mother. Brothers Tito and Jackie Jackson have remained among the executors’ strongest defenders, calling the Estate’s administration “the greatest and most organized” in modern entertainment history.

One observer cited in the documents put it bluntly, claiming the Estate has been rebuilt so carefully and so successfully that it could “feed dozens of generations of Jacksons.”

Michael Jackson’s Biopic Claims Undercut By Star-Studded Cast And Family Involvement

Paris also targets the upcoming Antoine Fuqua-directed biopic, "Michael," arguing that the production lacks true A-list talent apart from Miles Teller, who portrays John Branca. However, Brown reports that this claim is “false,” pointing out that the cast features Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, Lorenz Tate as Berry Gordy, and Colman Domingo, one of the most acclaimed and decorated actors of his generation.

Further complicating Paris’s argument is the fact that the film stars her cousin Jaafar Jackson as Michael and that her own brother, Prince Jackson, is serving as an executive producer, directly contradicting her assertion that the project is merely an executor-driven “playground.”

Documents reviewed by Brown reveal another dramatic twist: Paris has reportedly received more than $65 million from the Estate to date, significantly more than her brothers, Prince and Bigi, who have received far less.

“When Paris sues the Estate, she is suing the very entity that pays her,” Brown writes, pointing out that any legal fees the Estate must cover due to her filings are ultimately drawn from the same pool that funds her own wealth. As one insider quoted in the report bluntly asked, “What person has a $65 million allowance? Well, that is Paris Jackson.”

Sources cited by Brown say the filing is deeply out of step with the massive financial turnaround engineered since Michael’s passing. “Michael died more than five hundred million dollars in debt,” one source says. “The Estate not only cleared that, it built a fortune. For her to turn on them now is shocking.”

Others believe emotional pain, years of public volatility, and personal struggles may be influencing her decision. One insider warns, “She’s stubborn and she’s getting disastrously bad advice.”

Estate Source Calls Paris Jackson’s Legal Move A 'Misguided Attempt' After Court Loss

Per a source close to the Estate, the executors see the matter with stark clarity:

“This is another misguided attempt by Paris Jackson’s attorneys to provide themselves cover. The fact is, Paris Jackson’s lawyers lost their latest case against the Estate and have been ordered to pay the Estate’s attorneys’ expenses. All the beneficiaries are well taken care of by the Estate. This is a weak attempt to change the narrative of their loss.”

As the conflict escalates, it's clear that this is no simple dispute over paperwork. It is a fight over legacy, loyalty, memory, and the billion-dollar empire left in the wake of Michael Jackson’s extraordinary life.
