Eddie Murphy is opening up like never before, and one of the wildest revelations from his new Netflix documentary, "Being Eddie," involves a Hollywood legend, a birthday milestone, and a proposition he never saw coming. In the doc, Murphy, now 64, recalls a shocking encounter from the night he turned 21, one that involved "The Ten Commandments" star Yul Brynner.
Eddie Murphy Says Yul Brynner Approached Him With A Startling Offer At Studio 54

Murphy celebrated his 21st birthday at the iconic Studio 54, where he claims Brynner, then one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, approached him with a proposition. "My 21st birthday party I had at Studio 54," Murphy said. "Yul Brynner, 'Ten Commandments,' he was with his wife, and he was like, 'How would you like to go back to my apartment with my wife and I and party?' And I was like, 'Nah, I'm cool!'"
Murphy says the moment didn't fully click until years later. "And I realized as I got older, his wife was smiling," he continued. "Did he want me to go f-ck his wife?"
The comedian joked that the story could've turned into a Hollywood legend if he'd made a different choice. "The story would [have] ended better," he laughed. "You know, 'Yeah, I went back to Yul Brynner's and f-cked his wife, and he was watching me going, 'Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera!'"
Brynner died just three years later in 1985, following a battle with lung cancer. Although he was married four times, records show he was not married in 1982, leaving fans questioning who the mystery woman may have been.
Murphy Also Opens Up About Fatherhood And His 'Superpower' As A Dad

Beyond the headline-making Studio 54 moment, Murphy also gets deeply personal in the documentary, especially when it comes to family. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the comedian revealed the one thing he prides himself on most as a father of 10.
"My superpower is that I am always, always present," he said at the film's premiere in Los Angeles. "Talk to one of my kids anytime of day and ask, 'Where's your dad right now?' and they can look at their watch and tell you literally what part of the house I'm in. Dad is always present and always has been."
Eddie Murphy Welcomed 10 Children Over Three Decades

Murphy first became a father in 1989 with the birth of his son Eric.
Over the years, he welcomed a total of 10 children, including five with ex-wife Nicole Mitchell (Bria, Myles, Shayne, Zola, and Bella); Angel with former Spice Girl Melanie "Mel B" Brown; Christian with Tamara Hood; and his youngest children, Izzy and Max, with wife Paige Butcher.
Murphy Says Fatherhood Shifted His Entire Outlook

"Being Eddie" also delves into the part of Murphy's life he now considers his greatest role: fatherhood. Married to Paige Butcher, the actor opened up about how raising ten children fundamentally reshaped him from a self-focused young superstar into a grounded, family-centered dad. "My kids are the center of everything," he said. "Before kids, it's just about you; once you have kids, it's all about them."
Murphy admitted that before settling into family life, he lived on a much more chaotic schedule. "I used to stay up two days sometimes before going to bed," he recalled. But everything changed when he met Butcher. "When I met [second wife Paige Butcher], I got more on her schedule, and now we watch two episodes of 'Seinfeld' and go to bed."
Eddie Murphy's Family Grows As Daughter Bria Reveals She's Expecting Her First Child

The personal revelations in "Being Eddie" come at a meaningful time for the Murphy family, as Eddie's eldest daughter, Bria Murphy, is preparing to welcome her first child with husband Michael Xavier.
Bria proudly debuted her baby bump at the Los Angeles premiere of her father's Netflix documentary on November 12, glowing in a printed bodycon dress that showcased her growing belly. She posed on the red carpet with her dad and several of her siblings, marking a joyful family moment amid the documentary's release.
Bria and Michael's exciting baby news arrives three years after the couple exchanged vows in an intimate Beverly Hills ceremony attended by 250 friends and family members. The new addition will make Eddie Murphy a grandfather once again.
"Being Eddie" is now streaming on Netflix.
