The songwriter, alongside his lawyer, was reportedly held in contempt of court after Megan's attorney tried exposing on three separate occasions. He was reportedly uncooperative throughout the attempts and even had a disruptive episode on November 15.
The rapper's attorneys claimed that Lanez left the court while screaming at the lawyer who was deposing him. The singer's lawyer, Crystal Morgan, also reportedly tried coaching him and most likely forgot to instruct him on how best to answer the questions, which made the judge hold her in contempt.
As a punishment for his actions, Lanez was ordered to pay $20,000 for posing a problem in the way of Megan's legal team to depose him rightfully. TMZ reported that Megan also took a hit of the fines and was ordered to pay $5,000 due to her failure to abide by ethics and professional standards in court.
The 'Luv' Singer's Appeal Against His Sentencing Was Struck Out

Lanez's intensified efforts to gain his freedom last week failed woefully despite his observation that significant errors were made during his trial. As reported by the BBC, he stated that the punishment he got for the alleged 2020 shooting was too harsh.
However, a panel of judges in Los Angeles insisted that Lanez was not a victim of the wrong application of justice, and he got what he rightfully deserved. The singer's lawyers had argued that it was wrong for the trial judges to allow various pieces of evidence to make their way to the jury's table.
The pieces of evidence Lanez's lawyer cited include questions the lawyers asked Megan during her witness testimony, talks about the producer's tattoos, and a reference to a previous case in Florida.
The singer's lawyers have now claimed that the jurors were erroneously instructed about the charges in the case before the judge even considered their verdict.
Tory Lanez's Case Gained The Attention Of A Florida Lawmaker

Since the entertainer's incarceration, several divisions have occurred in the industry, with people picking sides with him or against his freedom.
Earlier in the year, Florida lawmaker Anna Paulina Luna used her platform to advocate for Lanez's release by calling on California Governor Gavin Newsom to grant him a pardon by looking into the case.
As shared by The Blast, Luna argued that the rapper's case was founded on flawed evidence and greatly influenced by political pressure, plus bias, which goes against the principle of justice not being blind or driven by sensationalism.
She promised that greater and more compelling evidence would make its way to the public soon, which would guarantee Tory's innocence. Luna added that everyone involved in the hasty incarceration of the singer should prepare to take accountability and admit to false evidence.
An attorney interested in the case alongside Luna claimed that Kelsey Harris's bodyguard, Bradley James, had sworn an affidavit that Harris admitted to firing the weapon, which means Lanez had no part in the shooting.
Megan Thee Stallion Warned Trolls Over The Alleged 2020 Shooting

The "Bongos" rapper in May hopped on her TikTok with a word for the critics who would not stop trolling her over the incident and Tory's incarceration. The Blast noted that she queried how long the public would give her heat and constantly remind her of a tragic time in her life.
"At what point are Tory and y'all FANS gonna stop lying? Like, how much is the check to keep harassing me? Why is this happening EVERY DAY??" the rapper stated. She noted her frustration about the attacks, urging fans to leave her alone and stop normalizing constant harassment against her.
"FACTS ARE FACTS, he did it, it was PROVEN IN COURT f-ck the hate campaign on the internet TORY YOU SHOT ME !!," she emphasized. Megan added that no new evidence exists anywhere that could dispute her story, which is allegedly the truth, as she promised to stay off the "silly a-s internet sh-t."
Tory Lanez Claimed Him TakingĀ Accountability In Court Was Not An Admittance Of Guilt

The songwriter took to Instagram after his sentencing to share an emotional statement reinstating his innocence in the case.
According to him, he took accountability for the verbal and intimate moments he shared with the parties involved in the shooting (Megan and Harris), but not an admission of guilt in any way.
He insisted that he was being wrongfully convicted of charges he had no hand in, and he would never apologize for a crime he did not commit. In addition to his negligence and felony charge, Lanez was also charged with possession of a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
The rapper's case seemingly regained recent public interest after he became the victim of a stabbing incident behind bars. Lanez was reportedly brutally stabbed by a fellow intimate multiple times for no apparent reason.
