Meghan McCain had her bags packed and was ready to go MONTHS prior to her ‘View’ departure.

On Thursday, July 1, Meghan announced she would be leaving the show at the end of the month after four-seasons.

At the top of Thursday’s show, she said, “So I am just going to rip the Band-Aid off. I am here to tell all of you, my wonderful co-hosts and the viewers at home, that this is going to be my last season here at ‘The View.'”

“This was not an easy decision, it took a lot of thought, and counsel, and prayer, and talking with my family and close friends. You know, look, Covid has changed the world for all of us and it changed the way at least for me the way I am looking at life, the way I’m living my life, what I want my life to look like,” she said.

She added that she would like to stay in Washington, DC, to raise her daughter Liberty. The show is filmed in New York City.

Of course, Meghan couldn’t end her ‘goodbye’ message without a little zinger!

“I will still be here another month so if you want to fight a little more, we have four more weeks,” she concluded.

Well, despite her saying it was a ‘hard decision,’ it’s now reported that the co-host has been ‘miserable’ for months!

A source revealed to PageSix that Meghan wanted to leave the show not long after joining.

The source told the outlet, “She’s been wanting to get out, especially since she now lives in the DC area with her family. She doesn’t want to come back to New York and be a part of that show. She’s been miserable since she started.”

ABC reportedly “begged” her to stay, and Meghan responded, “’No. I’m Done! I’m not staying anymore.’”

The network “even offered a contributor role on ABC News, which she turned down,” the source revealed.

The co-host had enough and didn't need it anymore.

PageSix reports their insider told them on Thursday, July 1, “The number of people who exit the show, it’s a joke. It’s a game there. It’s under the news division and … they thrive off women fighting. Everyone leaves there with their hair on fire. It’s really vicious.”

The conservative talk-show host has not had an easy go with the ladies of “The View” since coming back from maternity leave.

She's had spats with Whoppi Goldberg and most famously, Joy Behar.

Behar admitted on-air that she didn’t miss Meghan while she was on maternity leave.

It’s reported people on the show have loved hurting her and being cruel to her throughout her four-season run.

Other sources revealed to PageSix that there was a sense of retribution if a co-host or someone on set didn’t get along with Meghan.

“She would act out, yell at the audience, guests, and fight with her co-hosts [on-air], but there was never an ‘OK, you have to get along with your co-hosts,” a source revealed.

Another source added, “The onus was always on them to get along with her and put up with her bulls–t.”

Just remember, there's two sides to every story.
