Now, the alleged relationship is said to have ended due to Cruise's behavior, including claims about his desire to control various aspects of their romance.

Following the split, it appears Ana de Armas has moved on, as she was recently spotted on a shopping date with a new man. Meanwhile, Tom Cruise is said to be keenly looking for a new partner.

Ana de Armas and Tom Cruise might have looked like the perfect couple, but behind the scenes, their relationship had major flaws, which sources have now claimed led to its recent demise.

One of the insiders told Rob Shuter's #ShuterScoop that she was "adored" by the actor but ultimately walked away because she was fed up with Cruise's controlling behavior, which showed itself in every part of their relationship.

"He acted like a director, not a boyfriend," said a source about the duo who were often seen together in public over the year.

They said, "Every dinner, every outfit, every weekend plan — he had notes. It was exhausting."

Adding to her frustration with his behavior, de Armas reportedly wasn't comfortable with Cruise's attempts to push for a deeper level of commitment before she felt ready.

"He's high-octane in everything," added the source. "Ana wanted a partner. Tom wanted a production."

According to the source, what de Armas wanted from Cruise was just "love," not the controlling behavior he displayed alongside his affection.

They added, Cruise is "still chasing the perfect script. Ana's chasing freedom — and for once, she's winning."

The claims from the insider came days after earlier sources revealed that the split was de Armas's decision.

"Things were moving fast, and she started to get a little uncomfortable with how fast it was going," the insider shared, per US Weekly.

The source also confirmed that the breakup didn't change de Armas' feelings for Cruise and that they still share a connection they might want to explore again in the future.

However, for now, "they want to remain friends" as they move on to new chapters in their lives.

Following Cruise, de Armas has seemingly wasted no time finding another beau, as she was seen earlier this month on a shopping date with another man, according to TMZ.

The man in question is said to be Marcelo Valente, a partner at the venture capital firm Babel Ventures.

The duo visited a home decor shop to check out some of the available items, although it is unclear whether they were simply browsing or intended to make a purchase.

For the outing, de Armas was dressed in a denim-on-denim ensemble consisting of an open jacket and baggy trousers.

She cinched the trousers at her waist with a white belt featuring a large buckle and wore a white T-shirt underneath.   The actress further wore her hair loose and completed her look with dark sunglasses.

Meanwhile, Valente, who towered several inches above de Armas as they walked the streets, also went casual.

He wore a light gray zip-up jacket over a dark T-shirt, paired with black shorts that showed off his toned legs.

Tagging along on the trip was de Armas' pup, whom she held in place with a leash.

While Armas appears to have moved on to someone new, Cruise is yet to do so.

However, according to reports, he is keen on finding someone new to replace the Cuban beauty.

"He's ready to find someone new, and he's being very proactive about it," a source told the National Enquirer about the actor.

They added, "He's told his wider circle that he's ready to be set up."

The "Top Gun: Maverick" star reportedly has a specific requirement for his next romance, and it has to do with the lady's background.

According to the source, Cruise is keen on dating a prominent British lady as he moves on with his romantic life.

"Ideally, he'd love to be with a woman that is part of the British High Society, but that's not as easy for him to arrange as someone from the movie business," added the source.
