Antonio Brown recently scored a small victory in his attempted murder case by escaping jail time pending the ongoing trial.
The former professional football wide receiver is no stranger to being on the wrong side of the law; however, his latest legal drama is his most severe charge to date.
Antonio Brown was accused of firing a weapon during a brawl at a celebrity boxing event. He remains adamant that his actions stemmed from self-defense, while the alleged victim, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, shared a different narrative.
Antonio Brown Won't Remain In Police Custody Pending The Attempted Murder Trial

According to new reports, Brown appeared in a Florida courtroom on Wednesday morning rocking a red prison jumpsuit. This marked his first appearance in court after he was taken into police custody on a second-degree attempted murder charge.
During the hearing, the judge ruled that Brown was a free man pending the trial as long as he coughed up $25,000 for bail alongside strict conditions. Although he would no longer be locked up, the former athlete was placed under level 3 house arrest.
According to TMZ, level 3 is the most lax form of house arrest, but it still came with the standard ankle monitor to keep Brown in check. Additionally, he had to surrender his passport to deter any intention of fleeing abroad pending the attempted murder case.

Part of the conditions for Brown's freedom was a strict order to stay away from the alleged victim, Nantambu. Following news of their brawl at an Adin Ross boxing event in May, the latter came out to accuse Brown of attempted murder.
Nantambu claimed Brown tried to shoot and kill him with a handgun, alleging that the attack was unprovoked. He noted that the former Pittsburgh Steelers player suddenly snapped at the event and attacked him, allegations Brown has repeatedly denied.
The Blast shared that Brown's attorney, Mark Eiglarsh, shut down the attempted murder narrative in a statement. The legal rep claimed his client was innocent, arguing that his actions were simply a forced response to "the alleged victim's violent behavior."

Brown's lawyer echoed his self-defense tune, alleging that he was attacked first and acted within his legal right to protect himself. Eiglarsh implied there was history between his client and the alleged victim, noting that the person involved had previously committed criminal acts against Brown.
"It's a privilege to represent him, and I am determined to ensure that justice is served," Eiglarsh declared. The attorney entered a not-guilty plea on Brown's behalf, who could face up to 15 years behind bars if found guilty on a second-degree attempted murder charge.
The drama began in May at an Adin Ross boxing event, where witnesses reported that a fight had broken out after a group of men approached Brown over a piece of jewelry. They allegedly exchanged blows, with a video capturing Brown with what appeared to be a firearm before shots rang out.
The 'Dancing With The Stars' Alum Was Extradited From Dubai

Following the brawl, an arrest warrant for Brown was issued in June, but he was no longer in the country. The Blast shared that he had travelled to Dubai, with some suspecting he did so to avoid the consequences of his actions.
However, the pending arrest warrant eventually led to Brown's extradition as United Arab Emirates authorities sent him back to the States to face the music. He was reportedly accompanied by federal agents to the New York Metropolitan Area and handed over to local authorities.
The final stop was Brown's return to South Florida, where the shooting incident had occurred. As stated, the former athlete wasn't a stranger to legal troubles, as he was wanted for domestic battery in 2022 before the case was dropped.
A year later, Brown was arrested for failing to pay over $30,000 in child support to his ex, Wiltrice Jackson.
Antonio Brown Faced A Bankruptcy Drama Before His Latest Legal Case

Brown's legal troubles continued in 2025 when he made headlines for a bankruptcy case. The Blast covered the story in April, reporting that he was accused of faking an illness to escape a court appearance.
The media personality's lawyer had claimed he could not make the hearing because he was under the weather; however, he was up and about the next day. The trustee overseeing Brown's bankruptcy case called him out for feigning his illness.
The trustee argued that Brown was never sick because he appeared on Joe Rogan's podcast for over an hour and even shared pictures from the studio on X. On that note, the trustee implored the court to convert Brown's Chapter 11 bankruptcy case to a Chapter 7.
