Twenty-five years after starring in "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," co-stars Jim Carrey and Taylor Momsen reunited for the first time at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday.
At the time they starred in the movie, Momsen was just five years old and played the role of Cindy-Lou Who, while Carrey took on the iconic role of the Grinch, based on Dr. Seuss's classic story.
Speaking about their time on set, Momsen recalled how watching Carrey work hard while still being kind and approachable made the filming experience both enjoyable and inspiring for her.
"I just love that he was very protective of me," the actress revealed, per Variety. "He was always very kind. And just the entire experience of filming 'Grinch' and getting to know him so well, even in all the makeup, was just wonderful."
She added, "As a young person watching an artist at work and taking their craft so seriously, that left a really powerful, lasting impact on me as an adult now. And I'm excited to be able to tell him that as a grownup."
Fans Claim Jim Carrey's Face Has Changed
A clip from the reunion that went viral on TikTok led to fans commenting about Carrey's "new look."
One fan asked, "Are we sure that's Jim?" while a second remarked, "What happened to his face?"
A third individual wrote, "What happened to Jim Carrey's face?" while a fourth noted, "Something looks different with Jim Carrey. Can someone tell me what it is?"
Another person said, "I don't know who they're trying to convince us that is, but that's definitely not Jim Carrey."
One other individual speculated that Carrey must have had cosmetic surgery in the last few years.
"Jim Carrey either got Botox or a facelift or both, but he looks great," the individual wrote.
"Idc what y'all say, but Botox looks so good on him," one more person added to the conversation.
Several others made remarks about Carrey putting on weight, hence his new appearance on the red carpet.
Jim Carrey Is Ready To Reprise His 'Grinch' Role On One Condition

Since Carrey starred in "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," the movie has become a beloved holiday classic that continues to be watched every festive season.
On whether he would ever reprise the role, Carrey once revealed that he would consider returning only through motion capture technology, as the original transformation required "excruciating" hours of makeup.
"Oh, gosh, you know, if we could figure out the Grinch," Carrey revealed in an interview with ComicBook.com.
He added, "The thing about it is, on the day, I do that with a ton of makeup and can hardly breathe. It was an extremely excruciating process. The children were in my mind all the time. 'It's for the kids. It's for the kids. It's for the kids.' And now, with motion capture and things like that, I could be free to do other things. Anything is possible in this world."
The Actor Broke His Retirement For Financial Reasons

In 2022, Carrey announced his retirement after starring in "Sonic the Hedgehog 2."
However, he returned to reprise the role for the third installment of the movie, where he played both Dr. Robotnik and his grandfather, Gerald Robotnik.
Reflecting on his return at the London premiere, the actor told the Associated Press that money was part of his motivation.
"I came back to this universe because, first of all, I get to play a genius, which is a bit of a stretch," he told the outlet in 2024. "And I just, I bought a lot of stuff, and I need the money, frankly."
Now, the actor is in negotiations for a role in a "Jetsons" movie at Warner Bros. While details about his character remain unclear, it is believed that Carrey will take on a lead role in the upcoming project.
Jim Carrey Initially Said He Retired Because He Had 'Done Enough'

In March 2022, Carrey made his shock retirement announcement, telling Access Hollywood that he was "probably" ditching acting for good as he felt he had "done enough" already.
"Well, I'm retiring. Yeah, probably. I'm being fairly serious," the actor said at the time, adding that "It depends."
The movie star then went on to state that for him to act again, "the angels" would have to bring him a script written in "gold ink" that makes him feel it would be an important story for people to see, implying that he would only come out of retirement for a perfect script.
Carrey concluded, "I feel like - and this is something you might never hear another celebrity say as long as time exists - I have enough. I've done enough. I am enough."
