One member of the former hip hop group was reportedly detained over the weekend for a psychological evaluation in the middle of a live-streaming session at his residence. Local authorities reportedly arrived at his home on Saturday to carry out the Baker Act detention.

According to TMZ, the Baker Act is a mental health law active in Florida, which gives power to a law enforcement or mental health professional to recommend detainment for anyone believed to be a danger to themselves and to others.

The detainment enables an involuntary mental examination to ascertain if an individual is suffering from mental health concerns without treatment.

The Musician's Close Circle Reacts To His Sudden Arrest

Pending an official report about the status of Alex on his release, his loved ones have broken their silence on the manner of his arrest and the reason why. His brother, Frank Venegas, revealed to fans that the singer had been held on a 51/50 hold by the police over the weekend.

He stated that his brother was not arrested over any issue but was "Baker Acted," and he was not happy over that development, especially after they said his brother could not look after himself and he really needed professional help.

In another clip, Frank could be heard telling someone over the phone, saying, "His rights were violated, this might be a lawsuit." Well, Alex's baby's mother, Kayla Thayla, kind of agreed with what the law enforcement did, admitting that his living situation had become pathetic.

Franky got into his own drama with the feds earlier in the year when he was thrown behind bars for breaking the law by violating drug and gun rules.

He was booked into the Collier County Jail in Naples and charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and with delivering, possessing, or selling an altered firearm.

For his mugshot, which adds to a couple he already amassed over the years, Franky flaunted his signature hairstyle alongside silver-plated teeth grills and his face tattoo splattered all over.

He was previously arrested in 2024 in Fort Lauderdale and was charged with three offences, including operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, false ID provided to a law enforcement officer, and reckless driving. In the image, the internet sensation was also captured rocking similar silver grills.

The Brothers Were Caught In A Murder Suspect Search Conspiracy

Alex's weekend episode with the authorities would not be the first time one of their properties has received a presence of that nature. In 2022, the brothers were caught in the web of a search for a murder suspect named Andrew James Thomas.

Local authorities reportedly ransacked the brothers' rental property with hopes of finding the suspect, which actually became fruitful as the SWAT team members hit the gold mine. The suspect was charged with first-degree murder of an 8-year-old girl who was killed during a drive-by shooting.

Authorities reportedly gathered through their investigations that Thomas was a childhood friend of the rappers and may have used their home as a suitable haven.

Alex also reportedly contributed to the swiftness of Thomas' arrest as he fed the authorities with the necessary information about his entry into their home and where he may have been hiding within the premises.

Island Boys' Franky & Alex Venegas Reportedly Parted Ways Months Ago

February also marked the end of the duo's working relationship, as noted by TMZ. Alex confirmed to the news outlet that things had wrapped up between the duo for a while, as they were not even seeing each other physically at the time.

Franky reportedly moved out of their shared home in Florida over a year ago, as he and Alex would not stop arguing over the slightest of things. Alex reportedly stressed that his lifestyle was different from that of his brother, and distance seemed like the best response to that.

However, Alex affirmed his endless support for his brother and how he would always come through for him in tight situations, including clearing his legal fees. He concluded his interview with high expectations for his brother and himself reconciling their differences as they both advance into the future.
