Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin are now living very different lives after their experience with the 2019 College Admission Scandal that rocked their world.
Although Huffman has previously been in the spotlight for her legal scandal, she now makes headlines for rekindling her career and switching the previous narratives of the kind of mother she is. On the other hand, her partner in crime, Loughlin, has her marriage on the rocks.
Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin sparked media coverage as they both tried to cheat the college admissions system for their kids. A decision that soon backfired with consequences.
Felicity Huffman's Parenting Hailed By Her Husband On The Red Carpet

While on the red carpet at the premiere of his new film, "The Running Man," William H. Macy shared that he was attending the event with one of his daughters, Georgia, and spoke highly of her. He revealed that she was not getting into the industry; instead, she is heading back to school.
The proud father of two spoke on how proud he is of his accomplished daughters, Sophia and Georgia, describing them as "fine women." He added that he does not know how they turned out to be the women he is proud of today and then praised his wife for that achievement. In his words:
"I don't know how that happened. I credit Felicity, their mom."
Macy then spoke further about his younger daughter, Georgia, tellingPEOPLE that she is pre-law and has been taking the LSATs and acing it. He finished by pouring out more compliments to her, describing her as an extraordinary woman.
The 'Desperate Housewives' Star's Involvement In The Cheating Scandal

In March 2019, Huffman was arrested for involvement in a massive academic cheating scandal. At the time, she was charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud but was released on $250,000 bail.
Later in May, she pleaded guilty to paying $15,000 to fix her daughters' incorrect SAT answers. As a result, she paid a thirty-thousand-dollar fine, completed 250 hours of community service, and also served eleven days behind bars.
Her husband was not charged, but fellow actress Loughlin and her now estranged husband, Mossimo Giannulli, served time for the same scandal. Four years later, in December 2023, Huffman opened up about her reasoning that led her to commit the crime.
She claimed that contrary to popular belief, she was not trying to cheat the system; instead, she was misled by a highly recommended college counselor, Rick Singer, whom she worked with. She explained that at the time, the criminal scheme felt like the right thing a mother should do for her daughter.
Felicity Huffman & William H. Macy's Marriage Remained Unshaken Amidst Public Scandal

Huffman and Macy have been married for over twenty years. The duo got married on September 6, 1997, after dating on and off for fifteen years. Unlike other celebrities, the public stir did not weather their union as they still remained together through it unfazed.
The couple shifted their focus to their daughters' happiness and healing from the trauma that came along with the scandal. Photos uploaded to InTouch show snaps of when they first met in the early 1980s. They worked together through their early adult years and have maintained a good working relationship.
In the past, they split up for several years but tied the knot shortly after rekindling their relationship. Macy boasts of his love for Huffman, her work ethic, and describes marrying her as "the best thing he has ever done in life." The pair is notably the second married couple to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Huffman Took Responsibility For Her Actions

Back in 2019, before her sentencing, Huffman wrote an emotional letter to the judge presiding over the college admissions scandal case. She expressed remorse for her actions and accepted responsibility. She also wrote that she was ready to face the punishment for her crime.
She noted that maternal instincts impaired her moral compass and that her judgment was influenced by the diagnosis her eldest daughter received from experts and doctors, which revealed she had a learning disability.
She revealed that her conscience pricked her, and she felt conflicted after falsifying the SAT scores, but at the same time, it felt as though she was giving her daughter a chance at the future. The Blast shares that she also extended her apology to her husband, her daughter, and the educational community.
Lori Loughlin's Marriage Bites The Dust Following The Scandal

Loughlin and her estranged husband, Giannulli, were also charged with prison sentences after the feds accused them of paying $500,000 to college admission fixer Rick Singer.
The bribe was to secure their daughter, Olivia Jade's, admission to the University of Southern California's rowing team, although she did not have any experience in the sport.
As a result, Loughlin served 2 months, and the fashion designer served 5 months behind bars after they pleaded guilty to committing wire and mail fraud. In light of this commotion, their marriage fell apart.
They both blamed each other for the aftermath of the scandal, and as reported by The Blast, their careers suffered as Giannulli's fashion design business lost sales while Hallmark cut ties with the actress. They have since separated, and there is little to no hope of reconciliation.
Putting Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin's marriages side by side, one man's meat is truly another's poison.
