The Brosnan family has another reason to be grateful this Thanksgiving following the end of a decades-long rift between Pierce Brosnan and one of his sons.

The Hollywood veteran was estranged from his son, Christopher, for 20 years due to his battle with drug addiction. The "James Bond" alum opted for tough love to push his son into overcoming his vices and recently welcomed him back into the Brosnan fold.

Pierce Brosnan adopted Christopher and his late sister, Charlotte, after tying the knot with his first wife, Cassandra Harris. The deceased actress welcomed the duo during her second marriage to late film producer Dermot Harris.

According to new reports, Pierce has ended his 20-year estrangement from Christopher with some quality father-son time. They were spotted in London's Notting Hill neighborhood last Wednesday, enjoying dinner at a popular celebrity spot, restaurant Dorian.

The pictures of the outing obtained by Page Six revealed that the reconciliation dinner was a family event, with Pierce's 28-year-old son, Dylan, in attendance. The trio appeared to be in high spirits as they were photographed walking side-by-side while chatting.

The family sighting comes a year after Christopher reappeared in the spotlight last June. He was seen running errands at a Waitrose grocery store in London, a rare outing amid his decades-long estrangement from his father over his addiction issues and legal drama.

Pierce revealed that he was no longer on speaking terms with Christopher in 2005 during an interview. He shared that he had to cut ties with his son because of his drug abuse problems and troubled lifestyle, describing Christopher as "very lost."

"You never completely cut them off, but I have cut Christopher off. I had to say, 'Go. Get busy living, or get busy dying.' He has my prayers," Pierce said at the time. He added that he could only have faith and hope that his son would overcome his demons and live a better life.

According to Pierce, Christopher knew how to escape from his addictions; however, he refused to. As a father, the Hollywood veteran stressed that he could not continue to support his son's self-destructive ways and chose tough love to pass his message across.

If the pictures of Pierce and Christopher's recent outing did not showcase their rekindled relationship, a source told The Mirror that they radiated the same happy energy in person as seen in the snaps.

"They both looked happy and relaxed while sitting down with one of Brosnan's other sons, Dylan," the source said about Pierce and Christopher. They noted that the father and son seemed to have put their highly publicized differences behind them, looking ready for a new chapter.

Although Christopher ended up falling off the wagon with his addictions, he wasn't the only Brosnan to battle with substance abuse. After tying the knot to his late first wife, Cassandra, in 1980, Pierce welcomed a son named Sean on September 13, 1983.

Sean was just 8 years old when his mother, Cassandra, died from ovarian cancer in 1991. PEOPLE reported that he recalled the heartbreaking memory on the "Inner Space with Dr. Barbara Van Dahlen" podcast.

The media personality explained that he did not understand what it meant for his mother to die when Pierce broke the news to him until about six months later. Unfortunately, the realization of his mother's death came with a surge of anger that soon turned him into an outcast at school.

Sean's woes did not end there as he began experimenting with drugs in his isolation and loneliness, a vice that skyrocketed following a car accident at 16. He became addicted to painkillers after the hospital used opioids to help manage the trauma of his broken tailbone, pelvis, and more injuries.

Pierce Brosnan Found Love Again With His Longtime Partner

Besides drug addiction struggles, the Brosnan family has experienced two painful deaths caused by ovarian cancer. Cassandra was the first to go in 1991, followed by her daughter, Charlotte, in 2013. She died at 41, a few weeks after tying the knot to her longtime partner, Alex Smith.

Pierce opened up about the loss of his first wife and daughter to ovarian cancer in 2014 while speaking at a Stand Up To Cancer fundraiser. He confessed that it was heartwrenching watching the people he love have "life eaten away bit by bit by this insidious disease."

The entertainer found love again in 1994 when a business trip to Mexico helped him cross paths with Keely Shaye Smith. US Weekly reported that they started dating shortly after their first meeting and tied the knot in 2001 after welcoming two sons, Dylan and Paris.

Here's to hoping Pierce Brosnan can enjoy a happy relationship with his children.
