Denise Richards And Estranged Husband To Battle Landlord In Court Over Five-Figure Rent Debt

Drama continues to brew in Denise Richards’ life as the American actress and her ex, Aaron Phypers, are being sued by their landlord for allegedly owing rent.
Richards had previously filed a lawsuit against her former lover and his family, accusing them of damaging the residence they once shared.
The duo got married in 2018, but their love eventually grew cold and now appears to be headed to a definitive end as Phypers filed for divorce in July based on irreconcilable differences.
Denise Richards And Aaron Phypers Are Being Sued For Back Rent
Richards and her former lover, Phypers, have once again found themselves in another court battle. This time, they’re being dragged to court by their landlord.
As confirmed by US Weekly, a certain John Karan filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on November 7, claiming that the duo owes thousands of dollars in back rent.
According to Karan, the “Love Actually” actress and her former lover signed a lease five years ago, agreeing to pay $12,000 monthly for a six-bedroom in Calabasas. However, they have allegedly defaulted on payment for a few months now, and the suit is demanding $84,000 in back rent.
The landlord is also seeking to evict the occupants of the mansion and wants to take back possession of the property. Additionally, he also wants to be paid damages for every day the couple delays in giving him back the keys to the five-bath, 6,985 square-foot home.
Richards Accused Her Ex And His Family Of Trashing The Property
Despite being named in Karan’s lawsuit, Richards has not lived in the Calabasas home since 2023, when she moved out. Instead, Phypers and his family have been living in it.
In August, the “The Bold and the Beautiful” star filed a motion requesting that her former lover and his family members be asked to temporarily leave the property, claiming that they had trashed it.
“Aaron and his parents and brother have severely damaged the [home] and left the house in a state of disarray,” she told the court, per The Blast.
Richards also submitted pictures of the said damages, showing disorganized rooms, messy boxes, and scattered papers. The floors of the home also appeared to be torn up.
Despite Richards’ claims, Phyperson denied causing any damage to the home he once shared with the 54-year-old actress. A source close to his family also claimed that the floors of the house were torn up because they were being replaced.
Denise Richards Was Granted A Five-Year Restraining Order Against Aaron Phypers
Richards didn’t only file a motion asking for her former lover to leave their former residence, she also previously filed for a restraining order against him, which she won.
The Blast confirmed that Richards was granted a five-year restraining order against Phypers, from now until November 7, 2030. The 53-year-old actor was ordered to refrain from disturbing his ex-wife’s peace by reaching out to her.
He is also to return her devices to her and refrain from sharing information about her with the media.
The ‘Twisted’ Star Allegedly Suffered Multiple Concussions From Abuse
Richard’s restraining order against Phypers was granted after the former claimed to have suffered abuse at the hands of her ex-lover.
The actress told the court that in 2022, Phypers gave her a black eye, and on a separate occasion, he allegedly slammed her head against a concrete wall. She claimed to have had three separate concussions due to abuse from Phypers.
One of the most recent accusations dates back barely two months. Richards claimed that in September, Phypers got angry after she refused to give him her phone. He then allegedly grabbed her arms and pushed her down the stairs before proceeding to leave with his credit cards and other personal items.

Amid her restraining order victory against Phypers, Richards is set to return to the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” where she is expected to shed more light on her messy separation.
As The Blast reported, the reality TV star made a surprise cameo in a trailer for the show’s 15th season. She was captured emotionally addressing her split from Phypers as she opened up to other castmates.
Clearly hurt, she also spoke about her ex-lover leaking her nude photos, asking how Phypers could release explicit pictures of her, all in an attempt to prove her infidelity.
