Comedian Nikki Glaser is under fire after her controversial “Saturday Night Live” monologue included a string of jokes about sex trafficking and pedophilia, sparking widespread backlash online. The 41-year-old comic’s nearly nine-minute skit, which aired on NBC, quickly went viral for all the wrong reasons, with viewers calling her comments “tone-deaf,” “disgusting,” and “completely inappropriate.” Nikki Glaser kicked off her "SNL" hosting debut by welcoming viewers to New York City, which she jokingly described as convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s “original island.” The quip immediately drew gasps and outrage online, with many accusing the comedian of using sexual abuse and trafficking as punchlines.

Glaser then pivoted to an extended bit about human trafficking awareness posters in public bathrooms, telling the crowd, “Every time you go … to a public women’s restroom and you sit in the stall, there’s always a poster on the back of the stall that’s asking you if you’re being trafficked.”

Continuing the controversial routine, she added, “They’re in every stall. They’re in every world language. The English is really tiny and it’s like, ‘You wish.’”

Glaser also pointed out how men’s restrooms don’t feature similar signs, saying instead, “You have signs that are like, ‘Want a slave? Text Traffick to 69-69.’”

The bit, which appeared to mock human trafficking awareness efforts, was met with immediate backlash across X and Reddit, with viewers accusing Glaser of “crossing every line imaginable.”

Viewers Slam Glaser For Her Jokes On Sensitive Topics

Social media exploded with reactions to Glaser’s monologue, with some slamming the comedian. "Is it just me or is her sex trafficking jokes of f-cking poor taste," one user wrote. "Considering the victims of Epstein have spoken and poor Victoria Guiffre’s book just came out describing the horrible things she went through. What the f-ck is wrong with Nikki?"

Another threw out a statistic, writing, "One in four girls and one in 13 boys in the USA are estimated to experience child sexual abuse. #nojoke."

A third said, "Probably one of the worst monologues in recent memory. Literally nothing about pedophilia is fodder for comedy."

Glaser’s Disturbing References To Epstein And Maxwell

The stand-up comic also compared herself to Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s convicted accomplice, saying her younger friends believe she has a “resting Ghislaine face.” Glaser added that when she’s out with friends, traffickers likely assume she’s the “madam,” and her group feels safer because of it.

The comment struck a nerve given the gravity of the real-life case when Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial for child sex trafficking, and Maxwell was found guilty in 2021 and sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Critics online said Glaser’s decision to “make Epstein material cute and self-deprecating” was “beyond inappropriate” and showed a lack of awareness for survivors of trafficking and assault.

As if the crowd wasn’t already uneasy, Glaser’s monologue took another turn when she recounted a story about her 4-year-old nephew asking to shower with her, a request her sister allegedly approved.

Glaser told the audience, “‘Maybe it’s OK if you come and supervise.’ I said, ‘What if I molest him?’ And she said, ‘Would you?!’ I said, ‘Like, no! Never. That’s disgusting!’ But that’s what I’d say if I was gonna.’”

The comedian’s attempt at dark humor was met with visible discomfort from the live audience, and outrage from viewers online, who labeled the segment “repulsive” and “career-ending.”

As of now, Nikki Glaser has not publicly commented on the controversy, and NBC has yet to respond to the growing wave of outrage surrounding the monologue.
