In celebration of Veterans Day, Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes is stepping up to the plate once again, this time with Raising Cane’s, to support America’s heroes through a powerful partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation. Starting now through November 14, Raising Cane’s will match customer donations up to $250,000, doubling every dollar raised for veterans, first responders, and their families. After donating $100 for every strikeout during the 2025 MLB season, Skenes is continuing his mission to give back, joining forces with Cane’s to raise awareness and funds for those who serve.

Recognized for his powerhouse pitching, tireless dedication, and leadership on and off the field, Skenes has deep respect for the men and women who serve and protect. Back in March, Skenes proved that giving back is part of his DNA, extending his partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation and deepening his commitment to supporting veterans and first responders nationwide by spearheading a charity drive with a goal to raise $100,000.

His bond with Raising Cane’s also runs personal. The LSU Tiger alum grew up in Baton Rouge, just steps away from the brand’s very first restaurant near LSU’s North Gates.

Honoring Service Through The Gary Sinise Foundation

Founded by "Forrest Gump" star and longtime humanitarian Sinise, the Gary Sinise Foundation has become a powerful force for good, serving those who serve America. From building custom smart homes for severely wounded veterans to providing support for first responders and their families, the foundation has one mission, and that is to honor and uplift heroes through real, lasting impact.

The organization’s nationwide initiatives include everything from Relief & Resiliency Outreach to First Responders Outreach, offering financial aid, mental health resources, and community programs designed to rebuild lives and restore independence. Its signature R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence, Supporting Empowerment) program provides homes tailored to veterans’ specific needs, helping them regain mobility, comfort, and confidence.

Now, through its partnership with Raising Cane’s and Skenes, that mission is getting an even bigger spotlight. Together, they’re showing how a simple act, like ordering a box combo or scanning a QR code, can directly support those who’ve sacrificed everything for our safety.

Paul Skenes And Livvy Dunne Join Raising Cane’s Veterans Day Campaign Honoring Heroes And Giving Back

This isn’t Skenes’ first time giving back. The Pirates pitcher was recently named his team’s Roberto Clemente Award nominee for his off-field philanthropy. His passion for service, combined with his LSU roots and friendship with Todd Graves, made this Veterans Day collaboration a natural fit.

Alongside his girlfriend, Livvy Dunne, also an LSU alum and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, Skenes has become part of the Cane’s family, working with the brand on campaigns that celebrate teamwork, positivity, and purpose.

As part of the new partnership, Skenes starred in a special campaign shoot, appearing in ad spots, digital content, and social clips designed to raise awareness for the cause.
