Tyla’s Barely-There Look For Glamour Awards Sparks Talk About Her Weight

Tyla's star power continues to rise since her breakout hit “Water.” The South African singer has collected awards from the VMAs, Grammys, BET, iHeartRadio Music, and Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, among others.

Recently, she added the “Glamour Woman of the Year Award” to her already impressive portfolio.

She sizzled at the “Glamour UK Women of the Year” event on October 30 in a George Trochopoulos piece. Then turned heads again at the U.S. edition days later in a Dior dress. Her sultry UK outfit, however, sparked chatter about her weight.

Tyla was honored at the UK edition of the “Glamour” Awards on October 30 as part of the 2025 class.

Her show-stopping look featured a cropped jacket fully covered in shells, paired with a semi-sheer ribbed maxi skirt. The coat, which was a design from George Trochopoulos’ fall 2025 collection, was the standout piece of the full fit.

It covered the sides of her bust and was left open, baring her cleavage and midsection. She kept the accessories minimal, so as not to steal away from the allure of the Trochopoulos piece.

Tyla shared photos from the night on Instagram, thanking “Glamour Magazine” for the honor in her caption. The post racked up nearly half a million likes and over a thousand comments.

Some fans talked about her outfit. “Wearing mussel shells was so iconic,” a user commented. Another impressed user ranked it as “a top 5 Tyla look.”

While many fans admired the look, one claimed they were “disappointed.” A second unimpressed user wrote, “Who needs clothes? Go full bare as- and all at this point.” Another called her a “stripper.”

A separate thread of comments focused on her weight. “Take away your malnourished body,” one critic wrote. Another noted that she looked “very skinny,” but they love it. Meanwhile, someone else claimed she was “getting thick again.”

In the third and fourth slides of the post, Tyla joined the viral TikTok “sunglasses waist challenge,” sliding a pair of sunglasses around her waist to prove just how tiny it is.

“Just peeping that you passed the sunglasses test with flying colors,” a fan declared. A second user joked, “What waist?” Another confessed, “You have the body I’ve always wanted.”

Tyla recently posted a high-fashion photoshoot promoting her new track “Chanel,” released on October 24.

She wore a white ribbed, cropped tank top with subtle distressing along the neckline. It was paired with a low-rise pink-and-white polka-dot mini skirt with white lace trims along the hem. In later slides, she ditched the tank top for a matching bra with the exact flirty details.

The “Truth or Dare” singer accessorized with long pink-and-white checkered opera gloves, a layered gold choker necklace, and white stiletto heels. “Her body is so insane,” a fan complimented.

Another fan commented, “Praying for that Grammy nomination, you deserve it, Momma.” Someone else wrote, “Fingers crossed for that Grammy nomination today.”

The 2026 Grammy nominations will be announced Friday, November 7, starting at 8 a.m. PT/ 11 a.m. ET. Tyla has already earned one Grammy nomination and one win. Fans are hoping she’ll soon make it two.
