SZA has moved past the alleged Nicki Minaj beef!
The R&B singer revisited the nasty exchange between herself and the rapper in her latest interview and revealed that there was no backstory to the very spontaneous incident.
SZA and Nicki Minaj engaged in a brief online brawl in July after the latter accused her of constantly throwing subliminals her way for months and even involved the federal agents at some point.
SZA Insists She Has No Dog In Nicki Minaj's Fight With Her Label, Roc Nation

The musician explained in the GQ interview that she remains in the dark over what she ever did to deserve such a throwdown from Minaj on X (formerly Twitter). In her defense, SZA claimed:
"I don't know her. We have no connection to each other. There's no backstory. Like, there was no through-line narrative."
The singer continued that while her fight with Roc Nation over money and shady business deals continues, she had no role to play in the whole shenanigans. She emphasized to GQ that it was never her place to interfere and correct any running narrative between Minaj and Roc Nation.
The rapper had slammed SZA in a series of posts in July for being a fake "girl's girl" who would talk ill about people behind their backs but laugh at their faces and "run u down for a photo."
The 'Anaconda' Rapper Made Claims Of Threats On Her Life During The Exchange

Minaj and the singer went back and forth on X when she first accused Terrence "Punch" Henderson, President of the Top Dawg Entertainment (SZA's label), of bullying her.
As noted by Forbes, while the exchange went on, Minaj reacted to a video from the DJ of TDE, MackWop, telling her to "relax before you get put in a blender."
The rapper queried if that comment was a threat and added that she would like for an investigation to commence with swiftness. Minaj stressed that MackWop's words should not be taken lightly, as he has ties to people who do shady business in the music industry.
She proceeded to tag Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., in another post, alleging that MackWop publicly threatened him and she "notified the FBI & CIA." The lawmaker responded to the tweet with an instruction for Minaj to text her and promised to forward "this to law enforcement immediately."
SZA Revealed That Nicki Minaj Pursued Her For A Feature Twice

During the back and forth, Minaj declared that no one would miss SZA's influence in the industry if she stopped making music today. However, Billboard stated that SZA quickly countered the statement, insisting that Minaj knew precisely who she was and her sound.
"Nicki … You absolutely know my music and what I contribute cause you've asked for features twice to no response," SZA added. She continued that Minaj even took inspiration from her lines and used them in her hit track "Feeling Myself," which she sang with Beyoncé.
She followed up with screenshot evidence between a member of her team and Minaj, where the rapper asked if SZA was free to record music, as she would love to have her feature on a catchy hook.
The mother-of-one went off on SZA after she allegedly replied, "Mercury retrograde ... don't take the bait lol silly goose," to her post about Henderson. Minaj took a jab at the singer's looks and musical talent, noting that she sings like someone "stung by a f-king bee."
The 'Snooze' Singer Defended Megan Thee Stallion In An Instagram Comment Section

Earlier in the year, the GRAMMY winner lent her voice in support of her colleague amid reports of Lanez being stabbed in jail. The Blast noted that various comments circulated about the incident, including renewed attacks on Megan, who claimed Lanez assaulted her in 2020.
A legal analyst also weighed in on the matter and accused Lanez's team of chasing publicity with the stabbing object instead of letting the court do its work. The content caught SZA's attention and also seized the moment to slam the anti-Megan commenters.
"The density!!!!! I'm actually SO shocked at the number of people who are fully comfortable bullying a woman who's proven to be a victim of assault. Like, out loud, where other people can see you?? Lmao you finna be stupid OUTLOUD?" the 35-year-old declared under the post.
SZA's post resonated with a handful of fans who praised her for sticking up for Megan, who has also warned critics to stop harassing her about her experience and trauma.
Nicki Minaj Is Dealing With Losing Her $20 Million Home

A few months after the SZA episode, Minaj’s home became the target of a lawsuit settlement in which her husband reportedly assaulted a security guard during one of her shows in Germany in 2019.
As reported by The Blast, he had accused her husband of aiming for his jaw backstage at his wife’s concert in 2019, where he was the head of security.
He added that the rapper also threw a shoe and yelled at him as he tried to de-escalate a situation backstage by speaking to Minaj. Due to the effect of Petty’s punch, the guard said he went in for eight rounds of surgeries and had five plates inserted into his face.
The security guard, identified as Thomas Weidenmüller, claimed that Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, refused to honor the order from the court to pay him damages of $500k.
Hence, the victim urged the court to put up her $20 million 11-room Hidden Hills mansion for sale to offset the bill. The security guard’s lawyers noted that if sold, Minaj’s home would sort out their debt with enough interest.
Will Nicki Minaj prepare a fresh set of responses to SZA’s latest revelation?
