Eric McCormack and his estranged wife, Janet Holden, only need the judge's signature to go their separate ways.
The famous lovebirds have finally settled their divorce with arrangements concerning support and property. Coming to terms with this proved to be a struggle for the pair as they still made hand-in-hand public appearances after filing for their divorce.
Eric McCormack and Janet Holden became a legal couple in 1997 and remained together up until 2023, when Holden filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split. The soon-to-be ex-couple shares just one son, Finnigan.
Eric McCormack & Janet Holden Finally Reach Divorce Settlement

McCormack and Holden have reportedly settled their divorce, and the process will be officially finalized once a judge signs off on the settlement. The Hollywood veteran revealed that both parties have now entered into a written agreement.
While the full details of the written agreement McCormack refers to still remain under wraps, the document covers an agreement regarding their property and any spousal support.
Holden initially requested spousal support for herself, attempting to withdraw the court's ability to award McCormack any spousal support.
Holden filed for divorce two years ago, as reported by TMZ, after remaining married for twenty-six years. She cited in legal documents that irreconcilable differences were the reason she pulled the plug on their marriage.
Inside The Estranged Couples' Marriage And DivorceĀ

Upon filing for divorce, Holden listed their separation date as "to be determined," hence it is unclear when exactly they separated. Not much drama was uncovered in the years leading up to the divorce, as they led a private life.
The former lovebirds met in 1994 on the set of "Lonesome Dove: The Series," where he was an actor and she was the assistant director. The pair kept their romance a secret for a year and became public at the show's wrap party.
They got married on August 3, 1997, and welcomed their son and only child, Finnigan, in July 2002. Since he is not a minor, there are no child custody battles.
On the issue of spousal support, Holden, who also has some movie credits to her name, wants in. She wants McCormack to pay her spousal support, but she doesn't want to pay anything, as she requests to terminate the court's ability to award spousal support to the TV star.
Holden also requests that her estranged husband cover the attorney's fees and costs. It is uncertain if McCormack and Holden have a prenuptial agreement in place, but they will most likely split everything 50-50 as they have been married for a very long time.
The Former Couple Stepped Out Together After Divorce Filing

Four months after Holden pulled the plug on their relationship, fans were pumped with hopes of them getting back together. They attended the Elton John AIDS Foundation 2024 Oscars viewing party in their best formal attire, looking so in sync.
McCormack was clad in a sleek black tuxedo with a matching black tie over a white shirt. He paired his outfit with shining black shoes and styled his gray and black-tinted hair in a wavy pattern.
Holden wore a beautiful silver sequined dress with long, sparkling gloves, a pair of matching pumps, and carried a matching silver clutch purse. The Blast reported that the pair posed for pictures on the red carpet, holding hands and getting cozy as she wrapped her arm around his waist.
The Hollywood Veteran Did Not Take Off His Wedding Band Immediately

The "Travelers" actor was spotted days after his estranged wife filed for a divorce with his wedding ring still on his finger. He was captured looking gloomy as he stepped out for a walk with his dog.
He was probably holding on internally to the love they shared for almost three decades. He and his dog visited a shop for a morning coffee and a snack before stopping at a tree and staring off into the distance.
He was dressed in a blue zip-up hoodie over a t-shirt, khaki shorts with black sneakers, and a baseball cap. This marked his first public appearance after his divorce made news. His left hand came into frame, and his ring was still intact.
'Will & Grace' Star Eric McCormack Reportedly Has A Private Lifestyle

Despite his career as an actor and living in front of screens, McCormack has managed to keep the details of his personal life private from the onset.
Intricate details of his relationship with Holden have been shielded from the public eye right from their courtship days. He only spoke of their relationship publicly a few times.
In a 2007 essay for the Guardian, he talked about how he managed to convince Holden to agree to be in a relationship with him. Their wedding was also a very private, intimate ceremony.
It was reported that neither McCormack nor his wife addressed their split on social media, and this is attributed to the duo's low-key nature.
All the best to Eric McCormack and Janet Holden!
