Diddy's male prison protector has broken his silence on the wild knife incident that ensued between the embattled rapper and another inmate.

Raymond Castillo, who was once Diddy's cellmate at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, opened up to the Daily Mail about the incident, explaining that the inmate tried to bully Diddy.

Castillo noted that the said inmate was "persistent" about Diddy giving up the chair he was sitting in, but the "Bad Boy For Life" rapper played it cool and de-escalated the situation.

"Diddy told the guy, 'Yo, homeboy, why are you bothering me when I am watching TV and this chair doesn't belong to anybody. Why are you worried about this specific chair?'" Castillo explained. "I don't know if he was bullying Diddy or looking for clout, but Diddy didn't go for that."

The inmate then went away only to return with a handmade shiv, which made Castillo intervene in the situation as soon as he saw it.

"I jumped in between them and grabbed the guy's hand," he shared. "I didn't know if he was having a bad day or a bad moment, or if he had a bad phone call."

Following his arrest in September last year, Diddy stayed at MDC in Brooklyn for more than a year before he was eventually transferred to FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey last week.

He complained about the appalling living conditions and risk of assault in the notorious jail as he tried but failed several times to secure bail.

Reports earlier suggested that the Bad Boy Records founder woke up to the knife to his throat, but Castillo insisted that wasn't what happened.

"All these stories out there, people saying a knife to his neck and extortion or whatever. These are all false rumors," he said, adding that he was amazed at how Diddy handled the situation despite the fact that his life was under threat.

The music mogul reportedly told the guy he didn't know if he was "going through something," but advised him "to pray or something," rather than bother him.

The incident was caught on camera, and the police waded in to save the day. The inmate was eventually transferred to another unit within the prison.

While he was back at the MDC, Diddy kicked off an empowerment program for his fellow inmates called Free Game With Diddy.

The program sought to give participants knowledge in business management, entrepreneurship, and personal development, and the rapper used it to show judge Arun Subramanian that he had turned a new leaf during his trial.

Castillo was one of the 30 individuals who took part in the program and gave insights into how Diddy spent his days in the Brooklyn jail.

According to Castillo, the music mogul would often work out for about two hours before proceeding to host calls with his legal team.

He further shared that Diddy did a lot of reading in jail, noting that one of the books he read was "Rich Man, Poor Man."

"I feel like Diddy, over time, saw that people in jail are hopeless and lost, and there are a lot of broken souls. He wanted to empower youth, empower the minority, give a voice to the voiceless, and give people hope," Castillo said.

Diddy has since been moved to FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey and was recently seen acclimating himself with his fellow inmates. In photos shared by TMZ, the rapper sported a full grey beard and looked relaxed as he spoke with a group of men, even shaking the hands of one of them.

Diddy was transferred to the new jail so that he would be able to "address drug abuse issues" and "maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts."

According to the news outlet, the rapper has been bragging to inmates that President Donald Trump would pardon him in 2026 after a judge approved his request for his appeal to be expedited. He even promised to take care of them from the outside once he's pardoned.

No concrete plans about a pardon have been revealed, but the news outlet previously claimed that the President was considering it. However, a White House source dispelled the reports, saying it is not true.
