After years of being one of Hollywood's most vocal stars on politics, Jennifer Lawrence is rethinking whether speaking out was worth it.

In a new interview, the “No Hard Feelings” star reflected on her past outspokenness, especially during Donald Trump's first term, when she publicly criticized him.

While she admits she wishes she hadn't been so outspoken, Lawrence has made a new decision to step back and refrain from weighing in on political matters moving forward.

During an appearance on The New York Times' “The Interview podcast,” Lawrence was asked about her opinion on the president being in office for his second term, to which she responded about the shift in her mindset about being vocal.

“I don't really know if I should,” Lawrence candidly shared before recalling how, during Trump's first administration, she was frantically vocal because she couldn't believe what was happening.

However, over time, she realized that celebrities don't actually change election outcomes or influence voters' decisions. As a result, she now questions the value of speaking out at all.

Lawrence then noted that moving on, she is becoming more cautious about involving herself in political debates because she doesn't want her personal opinions to interfere with her career.

“I want to protect my craft so that you can still get lost in what I'm doing,” the 35-year-old shared, adding that unless her words can help create peace or solutions, she doesn't want to contribute to the problem.

When the U.S. leader first announced his candidacy in 2015, Lawrence declared that Trump's potential presidency would mark "the end of the world," criticizing how politics had become a form of entertainment.

When the “Silver Linings Playbook” star isn't speaking out on social or political issues, she's not afraid to open up about her personal life. Recently, Lawrence revealed that she plans on undergoing a breast augmentation.

As The Blast previously reported, the mother of two admitted that after welcoming her second child, her body didn't "bounce back" the way it did after her first pregnancy. Because of that, she's been thinking about getting the cosmetic procedure.
