Seth Meyershas once again provoked Donald Trump’s ire, and the president is not holding back on it.
Trump, who never shies away from calling out those who mock him, especially late-night hosts, is once again firing back after Meyers poked fun at his speech aboard the U.S.S. George Washington on Late Night.
After watching the show for the first time in a long while, Trump has now issued a scathing critique of Meyers.
Donald Trump Goes Off On Seth Meyers, Calls Him A ‘Truly Deranged Lunatic’

Over the weekend, the U.S. leader took to his Truth Social platform, airing out a lengthy rant mocking the comedian’s abilities and labeling him an enemy of his administration.
“Seth Meyers of NBC may be the least talented person to “perform” live in the history of television,” Trump called out. He continued doubling down on his criticism, adding that the 51-year-old may be the “worst to perform” on television.
Trump explained that he had recently tuned into Meyers' broadcast “for the first time in years” and described how the host had obsessively discussed his past comments about electric versus steam catapults on aircraft carriers.
He then described Meyers' behavior as rambling and called him "a truly deranged lunatic."
Wrapping up his post, the president blasted NBC for keeping the comedian on air, asking, "Why does NBC waste its time and money on a guy like this??? NO TALENT, NO RATINGS, 100% ANTI-TRUMP, WHICH IS PROBABLY ILLEGAL!!!"
What Seth Meyers Said That Triggered Donald Trump’s Criticism

Trump's response came just hours after the "A Closer Look" segment on the show aired a clip from his speech to U.S. troops in Japan, with Meyers mocking it.
In the address, Trump criticized the Navy's switch from steam-powered to electromagnetic catapults, questioning their reliability if exposed to water. “You take a little glass of water, you drop it on magnets, I don't know what's going to happen,” he said.
Meyers then took a jab at Trump, joking that “the guy spends more time thinking about catapults than Wile E. Coyote,” according to Entertainment Weekly.
Donald Trump Disapproved of NBC Extending Seth Meyers' Contract

Trump's criticism of Meyers comes as no surprise, as he has long expressed disdain for him. When he learned that NBC had extended Meyers' contract, he threw a tantrum about it.
According to The Blast, the Republican slammed the “Saturday Night Live” alum as “one of the least talented,” accusing him of having poor ratings and the “personality of an insecure child.”
Trump went on to question NBC's decision to keep Meyers and vowed to find out why. Although he reacted to the news in August, the extension had already been finalized the previous year, ensuring Meyers will continue hosting “Late Night with Seth Meyers” through 2028.
Donald Trump Targeted Al Sharpton And Pushed For the FCC To Look Into NBC

Meyers isn't the only NBC host to draw Trump's ire in recent months. In September, The Blast covered how Trump aimed at Al Sharpton and even urged the FCC to investigate the network’s license over Sharpton's continued employment.
As he often does, Trump voiced his grievances about the host on Truth Social, unleashing a lengthy post where he revisited their past acquaintance and described Sharpton as a "major Trump fan."
He went on to ridicule the 71-year-old's career, referencing Sharpton's involvement in the Tawana Brawley case, which he labeled "one of the worst low-level scams in history."
Trump further alleged that NBC Chairman Brian Roberts retained Sharpton out of fear of appearing "politically incorrect."
He concluded by calling on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to investigate NBC's license, accusing the network of political bias and claiming it airs "almost exclusively pro-Democrat content."
ABC Faced A Potential Lawsuit From Donald Trump

Another broadcasting company that has not escaped Trump’s fury is ABC. Last month, the politician threatened them with a lawsuit after they reinstated Jimmy Kimmel from a temporary suspension following his remarks about Charlie Kirk.
According to The Blast, Trump claimed Kimmel's return only further damaged ABC's reputation and questioned the network's decision to keep him.
He also hinted at possible legal action, boasting that he had previously sued ABC and won $16 million, suggesting this new case could prove even more lucrative.
