Hilary Duff has sent the pop culture zeitgeist into a frenzy after announcing her first music single in over a decade will be released in early November 2025. The iconic actress has been away from the music game since her last album, "Breathe In, Breathe Out." However, she got people talking when she revealed she signed a music deal with Atlantic Records earlier this year. The promotion of Duff's newest single comes at an interesting time, too, as the "Lizzie McGuire" star sparked controversy online when she shared a photo of herself crying over spilled coffee on her designer bag.

Hilary Duff Teased New Music A Few Weeks Ago

In addition to her countdown, Duff teased her comeback earlier this year with a photo of herself in the studio, sitting behind a microphone, according to The Blast. She captioned the post, "New music ... or something."
Other reports confirmed that the "Cadet Kelly" star signed a new music deal with Atlantic Records, promising fans new recordings, and a docuseries said to capture her long-awaited return.
While there's no set air date for the Duff docuseries, when it is released, fans will see the A-lister in the studio and in rehearsals preparing for her first live performance in over a decade.
The announcement of Duff's single prompted even more fans to jump for joy in the comment section of her post, celebrating the singer's resurgance.
"What dreams are made of!!!" a user posted, referencing her 2003 song of the same name. "Let's go, girls!!!"
"Here since 2002, babe. Can't wait," another user wrote.
"OMG, I love you so much, I have been waiting for this with much love," a third posted.
At the time of this publication, Duff's photo has garnered over 174,000 likes.

Duff's comeback couldn't come at a more perfect time, considering she faced intense backlash in late October 2025 after posting a photo of herself crying over spilled coffee that got on her designer bag.
"Spilled my entire coffee inside my purse and front seat," she wrote over a picture of the Balenciaga bag. "A whole milk latte. Didn't even get one sip."
Duff shared another photo after, admitting she had become overwhelmed with emotions and had to call her husband for support.
And while her husband likely offered her a shoulder to cry on, the public, however, did not.
One fan responded to her post, saying they wish they had "rich people problems," while another said the rich are "really going through it right now."
Could Duff Return To Disney In The Future?

Before promoting her new music, Duff had been on a mission to revive her early 200o's Disney sitcom, "Lizzie McGuire." The series was seemingly set to begin production in 2019, as she shared photos of herself and her cast members on set.
However, the show was shot down by Disney executives—something Duff said was due to the streamer being so new at the time.
“Disney+ was very new and I think they were figuring out their [pause] and we were figuring out our [pause], and...," she said, according to The Blast, hinting that the network wanted the show to be kid-friendly, while Duff had different ideas.
She finished, though, leaving fans with a bit of hope, sharing, "I am optimistic."
