Diddy wins a small victory in his appeal case!

The music mogul filed a request to expedite his appeal process, hoping to secure an early release rather than a lengthy battle amid his incarceration. He is currently behind bars at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey following his 50-month prison sentence.

Diddy was initially incarcerated at MDC Brooklyn after his arrest and indictment on federal charges in 2024. Although he escaped the more serious sex trafficking and racketeering charges, the jury still found him guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution charges.

According to new reports, a judge recently approved Diddy's request for an expedited appeals process. He argued that the case needed to be expedited to avoid the risk of completing his 50-month sentence while his appeal was pending.

Diddy noted that a fast process was the only way to ensure justice was served, and a judge seemingly agreed with his arguments by accepting his request. On that note, TMZ revealed that Diddy's opening brief was due by December 23.

The Feds were expected to respond by February 20, 2026, while Diddy's follow-up reply was scheduled for March 13, 2026. If everything proceeds as scheduled, oral arguments in the appeal case are expected to be heard in April 2026.

Following his October 3 sentencing, The Blast reported that Diddy had filed to appeal Judge Arun Subramanian's decision. The filing didn't come as a surprise, as one of his attorneys, Marc Agnifilo, announced they would appeal the sentencing immediately after the announcement.

"We think we have a strong basis to appeal," Agnifilo claimed. He argued that Judge Subramanian's decision stemmed from bias towards Diddy, noting that he had acted as a member of the jury rather than a legal umpire.

Diddy's attorney accused the judge of second-guessing the jury's verdict and slammed the sentencing as a "legal error." Agnifilo stressed that the punishment given had taken into account the crimes the jury had acquitted Diddy of, instead of his actual guilty conviction.

Besides filing an appeal, Diddy also requested to be transferred from MDC Brooklyn to FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to serve his prison sentence. His preferred prison was accepted, leading to his transfer to the facility on October 30.

The Blast shared that he was welcomed to the low-security facility with manual labor, as officials assigned him to the laundry room. He was reportedly responsible for washing and drying the clothes of other inmates.

Diddy's new responsibilities were definitely a complete 180 from his celebrity lifestyle, with prosecutors slamming him as extremely lazy during his criminal trial. They argued that he could not do anything without his legion of personal assistants.

While his new responsibilities behind bars might not be Diddy's cup of tea, he appeared to be having a good time after reuniting with fellow inmate and pal, Sebastian Telfai. The pair was photographed chatting in the prison yard over the weekend.

Diddy and the former NBA star were seen laughing and chatting with other inmates, forming a little group in the prison yard. The rapper and his pal are the most famous people currently incarcerated in FCI Fort Dix.

Besides serving time at the same prison, Diddy and Telfai are also seeking a pardon from Donald Trump. So far, the president hasn't hinted at granting clemency to either of them, but the former athlete might be uninterested in waiting, as he had three months left to serve, unlike his pal.

On the side, inmates received green beans and whole wheat bread. The menu was equally tasty on Halloween, with the prison serving hot oatmeal and a breakfast cake or French toast according to the inmates' preferences.

For lunch, Diddy and other inmates were offered baked fish, rice pilaf, spinach, and coleslaw with a side of tartar sauce. Although there was no candy, dinner featured black bean soup with either beef or tofu taco salad. Additionally, inmates had salsa, cheese, and a beverage.
