President Donald Trump continues to receive criticism from Hollywood legends, with Harrison Ford joining the ranks.

The "Indiana Jones" star called out the POTUS in a new interview, criticizing him for taking the United States backward with his stance on climate change. His distaste for Trump first made waves in 2024 when he endorsed Kamala Harris in the presidential race.

Harrison Ford is not only famous in the entertainment industry for his decades-long career, but also in the environmental scene for his love of nature and his commitment to the preservation of Earth's resources.

Ford did not hold back while addressing Trump and how his disinterest in climate change laws has negatively impacted the country. He accused the president of leading Americans down a dangerous path and of instigating other countries to follow suit.

"It scares the sh-t out of me. The ignorance, the hubris, the lies, the perfidy. [Trump] knows better, but he's an instrument of the status quo and he's making money, hand over fist, while the world goes to hell in a handbasket," Ford argued.

The Hollywood icon told The Guardian that Trump had "whims" rather than applicable policies, noting he did not know "a greater criminal in history." Ford added that the president's stance on environmental issues like climate change was "a clear expression of ignorance, of hubris, and purposeful subterfuge."

Ford's comments about Trump come months after the president resumed office in January and began dismantling environmental laws. He reportedly stopped clean energy projects, removed climate and clean air protections, and urged oil and gas companies to drill for more fossil fuels.

Trump also fired hundreds of scientists, removed their works, and allegedly banned mentions of "climate change" and "emissions" within the government. He took it a step further by withdrawing the US from the Paris climate deal and urged other countries to follow his lead with his "drill, baby, drill" movement.

One of the countries Trump pushed to increase their drilling for fossil fuels was the UK. He urged the country to destroy its "ugly" wind turbines and drill for oil, adding that the European Union should purchase more American oil and gas.

Ford reflected on Trump's fossil fuel-dominated goals, declaring that his desire to roll back the progress on climate change would never come to fruition. "He's losing ground because everything he says is a lie. I'm confident we can mitigate against [climate change]," he claimed.

The award-winning actor believed the world would stand against Trump's money-grabbing scheme, noting that people would adopt environmentally conscious behaviors, develop new technologies, and implement the right laws to save the planet.

Ford added that recent natural disasters, such as the wildfires in Los Angeles and Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica, served as a wake-up call for the world to take action. "I knew it was coming. I have been preaching this stuff for 30 years," he claimed, stressing the need for immediate changes.

Ford's status as an environmental advocate with a private jet came under fire in 2022 after Fox News uncovered his private jet logs. His multimillion-dollar Cessna Citation Sovereign reportedly made at least eight trips covering about 5,284 miles.

According to the outlet, these trips emitted approximately 35 metric tons of carbon dioxide in under two months. The data obtained from ADS-B Exchange and Celebrity Jets proved that Ford's private jet had released more carbon into the environment in less than two months than the average American.

The average American releases as much carbon as Ford's jet does every two years, while the average person worldwide burns it every nine years. According to The Nature Conservancy, the average carbon footprint of an American is 16 tons per year, while the average person releases about 4 tons per year.

Ford's comments about Trump came a year after he supported Harris in the 2024 presidential elections. The Blast covered the story, reporting that he had implored Americans to vote for the then-VP instead of a controversial figure.

According to Ford, Harris would defend their democratic rights, claiming she was the type to listen to opinions rather than force people to obey her decisions. He argued that her administration would be a team effort, rather than an authoritarian government.

"The other guy, he demands unquestioning loyalty, says he wants revenge," Ford said about Trump, adding that he wasn't the type of leader he could support. He believed Harris and Tim Walz were the right candidates for president and vice president and begged fans to make the right decision.
