Julia Fox's Defense Of Jackie Kennedy Halloween Costume Intensifies Backlash

Julia Fox's attempt at giving context to her Halloween look is absolutely falling on deaf ears!

The actress's chosen outfit for Halloween literally unlocked a whole new world of controversy for her, as she now insists it was done with the best intentions, not as a subject of mockery, but no one wants to hear that.

Julia Fox's scandalous Halloween outfit comes two months after she confessed to getting plastic surgery as a means to please and attract men.

The actress's explanation of her costume choice only added fuel to the flames that had been burning since the images went viral. An Instagram user criticized Fox's thirst to leave a mark so bad that she did not realize how "very distasteful" the act is and how much Jackie Kennedy's family would be hurt.

"Really, really disappointed to see some of my fav folks liking this," another follower declared, as a third Instagram user added that some things are better left alone than trying to justify doing them as a heroic deed.

"For her, it was an extraordinary active bravery. For you, it's just attention seeking and horribly disrespectful. Do better," this disappointed follower added.

Other commenters emphasized that Fox absolutely pulled that move to chase clout and farm for attention since she had been getting fewer mentions from the press lately. The conversation also crossed over to X, where thousands of subscribers tore her antics apart.

"Julia Fox glorifying political violence is disgusting, desperate, and dangerous.  I'm sure her late grandmother would agree," a popular X subscriber and John F. Kennedy Sr's grandson, Jack Schlossberg wrote on his page.

Fox took to Instagram to share a picture of herself in the outfit, which included a pink-and-blue skirt suit set, white gloves, and a pink pillbox hat. The outfit was then covered in blood, which was a reference to the original outfit worn by the former first lady the day her husband was assassinated in Texas in 1963.

The actress wrote in the caption that she chose the outfit not as a costume but as a statement, emphasizing Jackie's bold resolve to ensure Americans see just how much damage was done to the late president and his family.

"The image of the delicate pink suit splattered with blood is one of the most haunting juxtapositions in modern history. Beauty and horror. Poise and devastation," Fox continued.

She praised Jackie's decision to keep her blood-soaked clothes on despite the pressure to change them as the utmost act of bravery and a cocktail of "performance, protest, and mourning all at once."

In the concluding paragraph of her post, Fox stated that Jackie skillfully used her femininity to expose brutality and display resistance.

Jackie made history in the outfit when she stood next to Lyndon B. Johnson after her husband was murdered. The former first lady's pink outfit, shoes, handbag, and stockings were wrapped in a towel after the shooting to keep the blood fresh.

Johnson became president soon after serving as John F. Kennedy's vice president. As PEOPLE reported, Jackie damned all the advice not to wear the outfit and even went to bed in it. 

"Despite these horrible circumstances, she was willing to stand for a photo because she understood what it meant for the nation to have continuity in government," historian Steve Gillon explained.

Gillon added that Jackie understood that she had a role to play in helping America transition into a new era with another president and administration. The outfit was then reportedly sent to the National Archives in 1964, still in its bloodied condition.

Always an open book about her struggles and wins, the TV personality confessed that the wrong motivation fueled her reasons for getting plastic surgery. In a The Blast report, Fox noted that she got these nips and tucks to increase her chances of survival, which mostly revolved around pleasing men.

The actress had previously disclosed that she had undergone several cosmetic procedures, including Botox, liposuction, veneers, and rhinoplasty.

Fox continued that she sometimes looked back and wished she could turn back the hands of time and become someone who had never touched anything on her body. In her words:

"I wish I could go back and be that person. I was so hung up on this idea that I needed to be attractive to men so that I could survive."

Fox noted that those procedures were done out of desperation rather than vanity, and while she may get more work done in the future, she is less focused on doing it to please someone else.

The media personality was in a whirlwind romance with Ye, and while they oozed power couple energy, the aftermath left Fox wounded. The Blast reported that the star admitted she would never consider another public romance with a celebrity.

She also stated her intention not to pursue a relationship with any man until further notice, as they had become an obstacle she had to overcome. Fox added that it becomes extremely difficult to escape that person's shadow once the relationship ends.

"And I just don't want to uphold that. I want to be able to make it on my own. I don't want anyone to be able to attribute my success to a man in my life," the model stressed.

She also condemned the culture, which is very rampant in Hollywood, and noted that she did not aspire to be a part of the statistics.
